To the best of our knowledge, this work presents the first protocol that allows one of the parties to delegate PSI-CA computation to untrusted servers. At the heart of our delegated PSI-CA protocol is a new oblivious distributed key PRF (Odk-PRF) abstraction, which may be of independent interest.

The traditional ways of modeling generally have common problems such as low efficiency, waste of manpower and time consumption. How to find a rapid approach to automatically complete large-scale 3D modeling is a very hot research topic. In this paper we propose a novel approach of procedural modeling of buildings with CityEngine, which is combined with ArcGIS technology for the geographic information. This approach produces extensive architectural 3D models with high visual quality and geometric details at low cost. It includes following two contents concretely. At first, directly writing computer generated architecture (CGA) shape grammar to complete procedural modeling of building and other objects. Secondly, using facade modeling based on two-dimensional images to generate architectural model as well as creating high geometry details. It is validated that this novel approach of procedural modeling is a significant step forward that reduces a lot of modeling times by CGA shape grammars.

The main goal of this paper is the control of second order nonlinear system. Firstly, adaptive fuzzy sliding mode is applied to design the controller. Next, a performance of system and a chattering phenomenon are improved by adjusting parameters of the controller via MRAS. Finally, an example is presented to illustrate the proposed methods. By applying Lyapunov stability theory, the adaptive law that is derived in this study is robust and convergent quickly. The simulation results and analysis show that the proposed method is better than Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode in the sense of robustness against disturbance and reduce the chattering.

Electroencephalography (EEG) can assist with the accurate diagnosis of depression. In this paper, we present two different hybrid deep learning models for classification and assessment of patient suffering with depression. We have combined convolutional neural network with Gated recurrent units (RGUs), thus the proposed network is shallow and much smaller in size in comparison to its counter LSTM network. In addition to this, proposed approach is less sensitive to parameter settings. Extensive experiments on EEG dataset shows that the proposed hybrid model achieve highest accuracy, f1 score 99.66%, 99.93% and 98.87%, 99.12% for eye open and eye close dataset respectively in comparison to state of the art methods. Based on high performance, the proposed hybrid approach can be used for assessment of depression for clinical applications and can deployed remotely in hospital or private clinics for clinical evaluation.

However, the flexibility of IaaS clouds presents unique challenges for storage and data management in these environments. Users use manual and/or ad-hoc methods to manage storage selection, storage configuration and data management in these environments. We address these challenges via a novel storage and data life cycle management through FRIEDA (Flexible Robust Intelligent Elastic Data Management), an application specific storage and data management framework for composable infrastructure environments.

In this paper we generalize an encoding method due to Girod (cf. [6]) using prefix codes, that allows a bidirectional decoding of the encoded messages. In particular we generalize it to any finite alphabet A, to any operation defined on A, to any code with finite deciphering delay and to any key x ∈ A+ , on a length depending on the deciphering delay. We moreover define, as in [4], a deterministic transducer for such generalized method. We prove that, fixed a code X ∈ A* with finite deciphering delay and a key x ∈ A *, the transducers associated to different operations are isomorphic as unlabelled graphs. We also prove that, for a fixed code X with finite deciphering delay, transducers associated to different keys have an isomorphic non trivial strongly connected component.

Several researchers have analyzed the problems arising from bad data injection and topology errors, and have proposed protection and mitigation schemes. This chapter employs hierarchical state estimation based on the common weighted-least-squares formulation to study the propagation of faults in intermediate and top-level state estimates as a result of measurement reordering attacks on a single region in the bottom level. Although power grids are equipped with modern defense mechanisms such as those recommended by the ISO/IEC 62351 standard, reordering attacks are still possible. This chapter concentrates on how an inexpensive data swapping attack in one region in the lower level can influence the accuracy of other regions in the same level and upper levels, and force the system towards undesirable states. The results are validated using the IEEE 118-bus test case.

One way to sidestep this issue is to start with simple communication and fault models, and use them as building blocks to derive the complex models studied in the field. We thus define operations like union, succession or repetition, which makes it easier to build complex models from simple ones while retaining expressivity. To formalize this approach, we abstract away the complex models and operations in the Heard-Of model. This model relies on (possibly asynchronous) rounds; sequence of digraphs, one for each round, capture which messages sent at a given round are received before the receiver goes to the next round. A set of sequences, called a heard-of predicate,defines the legal communication behaviors -- that is to say, a model of communication. Because the proposed operations behave well with this transformation of operational models into heard-of predicates, we can derive bounds, characterizations, and implementations of the heard-of predicates for the constructions. The management of future networks is expected to fully exploit cognitive capabilities that embrace knowledge and intelligence, increasing the degree of automation, making the network more self-autonomous and enabling a personalized user experience. In this context, this paper presents the use of knowledge-based capabilities through a specific lab experiment focused on the Channel Selection functionality for Cognitive Radio Networks (CRN). The selection is based on a supervised classification that allows estimating the number of interfering sources existing in a given frequency channel. Four different classifiers are considered, namely decision tree, neural net-work, naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine (SVM). Additionally, a comparison against other channel selection strategies using Q-learning and game theory has also been performed. Results obtained in an illustrative and realistic test scenario have revealed that all the strategies allow identifying an optimum solution. However, the time to converge to this solution can be up to 27 times higher according to the algorithm selected. Peer Reviewed

This property is very valuable in large scale systems where gigabytes of data are continuously processed (e.g. in cloud storage). Adding cryptographic operations on such systems can decrease dramatically their performance and incrementality is an interesting solution to have security at a reduced cost.We focus on the so-called XOR-scheme, the first incremental authentication construction proposed by Bellare, Goldreich and Goldwasser, and the only strongly incremental scheme (i.e. incremental regarding insert and delete update operations at any position in a document). Surprisingly, we found a simple attack on this construction that breaks the basic security claimed by the authors in 1994 with only one authentication query (not necessarily chosen). Our analysis gives different ways to fix the scheme; some of these patches are discussed in this paper and we provide a security proof for one of them.

To the best of our knowledge, this work presents the first protocol that allows one of the parties to delegate PSI-CA computation to untrusted servers. At the heart of our delegated PSI-CA protocol is a new oblivious distributed key PRF (Odk-PRF) abstraction, which may be of independent interest.

The traditional ways of modeling generally have common problems such as low efficiency, waste of manpower and time consumption. How to find a rapid approach to automatically complete large-scale 3D modeling is a very hot research topic. In this paper we propose a novel approach of procedural modeling of buildings with CityEngine, which is combined with ArcGIS technology for the geographic information. This approach produces extensive architectural 3D models with high visual quality and geometric details at low cost. It includes following two contents concretely. At first, directly writing computer generated architecture (CGA) shape grammar to complete procedural modeling of building and other objects. Secondly, using facade modeling based on two-dimensional images to generate architectural model as well as creating high geometry details. It is validated that this novel approach of procedural modeling is a significant step forward that reduces a lot of modeling times by CGA shape grammars.

The main goal of this paper is the control of second order nonlinear system. Firstly, adaptive fuzzy sliding mode is applied to design the controller. Next, a performance of system and a chattering phenomenon are improved by adjusting parameters of the controller via MRAS. Finally, an example is presented to illustrate the proposed methods. By applying Lyapunov stability theory, the adaptive law that is derived in this study is robust and convergent quickly. The simulation results and analysis show that the proposed method is better than Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode in the sense of robustness against disturbance and reduce the chattering.

Electroencephalography (EEG) can assist with the accurate diagnosis of depression. In this paper, we present two different hybrid deep learning models for classification and assessment of patient suffering with depression. We have combined convolutional neural network with Gated recurrent units (RGUs), thus the proposed network is shallow and much smaller in size in comparison to its counter LSTM network. In addition to this, proposed approach is less sensitive to parameter settings. Extensive experiments on EEG dataset shows that the proposed hybrid model achieve highest accuracy, f1 score 99.66%, 99.93% and 98.87%, 99.12% for eye open and eye close dataset respectively in comparison to state of the art methods. Based on high performance, the proposed hybrid approach can be used for assessment of depression for clinical applications and can deployed remotely in hospital or private clinics for clinical evaluation.

In this paper we generalize an encoding method due to Girod (cf. [6]) using prefix codes, that allows a bidirectional decoding of the encoded messages. In particular we generalize it to any finite alphabet A, to any operation defined on A, to any code with finite deciphering delay and to any key x ∈ A+ , on a length depending on the deciphering delay. We moreover define, as in [4], a deterministic transducer for such generalized method. We prove that, fixed a code X ∈ A* with finite deciphering delay and a key x ∈ A *, the transducers associated to different operations are isomorphic as unlabelled graphs. We also prove that, for a fixed code X with finite deciphering delay, transducers associated to different keys have an isomorphic non trivial strongly connected component.

Several researchers have analyzed the problems arising from bad data injection and topology errors, and have proposed protection and mitigation schemes. This chapter employs hierarchical state estimation based on the common weighted-least-squares formulation to study the propagation of faults in intermediate and top-level state estimates as a result of measurement reordering attacks on a single region in the bottom level. Although power grids are equipped with modern defense mechanisms such as those recommended by the ISO/IEC 62351 standard, reordering attacks are still possible. This chapter concentrates on how an inexpensive data swapping attack in one region in the lower level can influence the accuracy of other regions in the same level and upper levels, and force the system towards undesirable states. The results are validated using the IEEE 118-bus test case.

One way to sidestep this issue is to start with simple communication and fault models, and use them as building blocks to derive the complex models studied in the field. We thus define operations like union, succession or repetition, which makes it easier to build complex models from simple ones while retaining expressivity. To formalize this approach, we abstract away the complex models and operations in the Heard-Of model. This model relies on (possibly asynchronous) rounds; sequence of digraphs, one for each round, capture which messages sent at a given round are received before the receiver goes to the next round. A set of sequences, called a heard-of predicate,defines the legal communication behaviors -- that is to say, a model of communication. Because the proposed operations behave well with this transformation of operational models into heard-of predicates, we can derive bounds, characterizations, and implementations of the heard-of predicates for the constructions. The management of future networks is expected to fully exploit cognitive capabilities that embrace knowledge and intelligence, increasing the degree of automation, making the network more self-autonomous and enabling a personalized user experience. In this context, this paper presents the use of knowledge-based capabilities through a specific lab experiment focused on the Channel Selection functionality for Cognitive Radio Networks (CRN). The selection is based on a supervised classification that allows estimating the number of interfering sources existing in a given frequency channel. Four different classifiers are considered, namely decision tree, neural net-work, naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine (SVM). Additionally, a comparison against other channel selection strategies using Q-learning and game theory has also been performed. Results obtained in an illustrative and realistic test scenario have revealed that all the strategies allow identifying an optimum solution. However, the time to converge to this solution can be up to 27 times higher according to the algorithm selected. Peer Reviewed

This property is very valuable in large scale systems where gigabytes of data are continuously processed (e.g. in cloud storage). Adding cryptographic operations on such systems can decrease dramatically their performance and incrementality is an interesting solution to have security at a reduced cost.We focus on the so-called XOR-scheme, the first incremental authentication construction proposed by Bellare, Goldreich and Goldwasser, and the only strongly incremental scheme (i.e. incremental regarding insert and delete update operations at any position in a document). Surprisingly, we found a simple attack on this construction that breaks the basic security claimed by the authors in 1994 with only one authentication query (not necessarily chosen). Our analysis gives different ways to fix the scheme; some of these patches are discussed in this paper and we provide a security proof for one of them.
