Huma-Num (UMS 3598) est une très grande infrastructure (TGIR) née de la fusion du TGE-Adonis et de IR-Corpus. Elle vise à faciliter le tournant numérique de la recherche en sciences humaines et sociales. Pour remplir cette mission, la TGIR Huma-Num est bâtie sur une organisation originale consistant à mettre en oeuvre un dispositif humain (concertation collective) et technologique (services numériques pérennes) à l’échelle nationale et européenne en s’appuyant sur un important réseau de partenaires et d’opérateurs. Ce rapport intermédiaire dresse le bilan des premières années de la TGIR en rappelant son contexte de création, les services créées, son fonctionnement en réseau et les perspectives de développement à moyen terme.

Die europäische Umfrage zu wissenschaftlichen Praktiken und digitalen Bedürfnissen in den Geisteswissenschaften ist das Produkt eines kollaborativen Unterfangens europäischer Forschender, die mit der DiMPOArbeitsgruppe zusammenarbeiten. Sie wurde als überregionale Längsschnittstudie konzipiert, die in einem europäischen Rahmen nach einigen Jahren jeweils wiederholt werden soll. Ziel der Studie ist es, einen evidenzbasierten Ausblick über wissenschaftliche Praktiken sowie die Bedürfnisse und Einstellungen europäischer DH-Forschender zu digitalen Ressourcen, Methoden und Werkzeuge zu geben. Die Ergebnisse der ersten Studie (März 2015 abgeschlossen) werden in einem von mehreren Autoren und Autorinnen verfassten Bericht zusammengetragen, der vergleichende und konsolidierte Analysen sowie sechs Länderprofile enthält. This research is the outcome of collaborative work of European researchers from different countries, working within the DiMPO Working Group. It has been designed as a multiregional longitudinal survey, to be conducted online across European countries and to be repeated every few years. Its aim is to provide an evidence-based outlook of scholarly practices, needs and attitudes of European humanities researchers towards digital resources, methods and tools across space and time. Results of the first run of the survey (completed in March 2015) are presented in a multi-authored report, which includes comparative and consolidated analyses, as well as five country profiles. This report discusses the scholarly communication issues in Social Sciences and Humanities that are relevant to the future development and functioning of OPERAS. The outcomes collected here can be divided into two groups of innovations regarding 1) the operation of OPERAS, and 2) its activities. The “operational” issues include the ways in which an innovative research infrastructure should be governed (Chapter 1) as well as the business models for open access publications in Social Sciences and Humanities (Chapter 2). The other group of issues is dedicated to strategic areas where OPERAS and its services may play an instrumental role in providing, enabling, or unlocking innovation: FAIR data (Chapter 3), bibliodiversity and multilingualism in scholarly communication (Chapter 4), the future of scholarly writing (Chapter 5), and quality assessment (Chapter 6). Each chapter provides an overview of the main findings and challenges with emphasis on recommendations for OPERAS and other stakeholders like e- infrastructures, publishers, SSH researchers, research performing organisations, policy makers, and funders.
