    Aujourd’hui, les nombreuses applications de l’Internet des Objets (IoT : Internet of Things) peuvent significativement améliorer la vie quotidienne des utilisateurs. Grâce à ces applications, il est possible de commander à distance les différents appareils de la maison, surveiller les signes vitaux d’un patient et alerter automatiquement son médecin en cas de problème. Cependant, les problèmes de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée empêchent les utilisateurs de faire pleinement confiance à ces applications, ce qui peut avoir pour effet de ralentir l’adoption globale de ces technologies et leur large déploiement. Pour résoudre ces problèmes de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée, plusieurs solutions ont été proposées. Cependant, plusieurs défis restent encore à relever pour permettre une large adoption de ces applications. L’approche centrée sur l’utilisateur semble être très pertinente pour relever un grand nombre de ces défis. Pour offrir une sécurité et une protection de la vie privée centrées sur l’utilisateur et permettre la prise en charge de nombreuses applications IoT, les travaux de cette thèse proposent d’adapter la mise en œuvre des mécanismes de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée en fonction du contexte de l’utilisateur. Dans un premier temps, cette thèse présente l’architecture CASPaaS (Context-Aware Security and Privacy as a Service). Cette architecture de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée sensibles au contexte pour l’IoT est basée sur l’approche ‘as a service’. Elle garantit l’adaptation dynamique et personnalisée des services de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée en fonction du contexte de l’utilisateur. Grâce à la conception ‘as a service’, cette architecture se caractérise par une grande flexibilité qui lui permet de prendre en charge de nombreuses applications IoT. Dans un second temps, cette thèse présente un système permettant de gérer la sécurité et la fiabilité de l’architecture CASPaaS elle-même. Ce système, appelé SETUCOM (SEcure and TrUstworthy COntext Management) gère la sécurité des données contextuelles échangées au sein de l’architecture CASPaaS ainsi que la confiance des sources de données. Ceci permet de pallier un grand nombre d’attaques pouvant conduire au disfonctionnement de notre architecture CASPaaS. Dans un troisième temps, cette thèse présente un nouveau système de gestion décentralisée des autorisations sensibles au contexte pour l’IoT. Ce système, basé également sur l’approche ‘as a service’, offre à l’utilisateur une gestion dynamique, décentralisée et simple des autorisations. Dans un dernier temps, cette thèse s’intéresse au déploiement du service CASPaaS au plus proche des utilisateurs en se basant sur une infrastructure de type Edge Computing. Dans ce contexte, nous proposons une nouvelle stratégie de placement dynamique de ce service. Cette stratégie fait appel à des techniques de l’intelligence artificielle afin de garantir un placement efficace tout en optimisant les différentes performances (réseau, service, capacités des nœuds Edge, processus de placement lui-même, etc.). Today, the Internet of Things (IoT) applications can significantly improve the daily life of users. Thanks to these applications, it is possible to control the various devices in the home remotely, monitor a patient's vital signs, and automatically alert his doctor when problems occur. However, security and privacy issues hinder the users to trust fully these applications, what may have as effect to slow down the overall adoption of these technologies and their widespread deployment. Several solutions have been proposed to address these security and privacy issues. Despite this, several challenges still need to be overcome to enable the global adoption of this type of application. The user-centric approach seems to be very relevant to address a large number of these challenges. To provide user-centric security and privacy protection and to enable the numerous IoT applications support, this thesis proposes to adapt the implementation of security and privacy protection mechanisms based on the user context and enable support for many IoT applications. First, this thesis presents the CASPaaS (Context-Aware Security and Privacy as a Service) architecture. This context-aware security and privacy architecture for IoT is based on the 'as a service' approach. It ensures the dynamic, personalized adaptation of security and privacy services based on the user's context. Thanks to the 'as a service' design, this architecture is characterized by high flexibility that will make it able to support multiple IoT applications. In a second step, this thesis presents a system to manage the security and reliability of the CASPaaS architecture itself. This system, called SETUCOM (SEcure and TrUstworthy COntext Management), addresses the security of the contextual data exchanged within the CASPaaS architecture and the trustworthiness of these data sources. This allows mitigating a large number of attacks that can lead to the malfunctioning of our CASPaaS architecture. In a third step, this thesis presents a new decentralized context-aware authorization management system for the IoT. This system, also based on the 'as a service' approach, offers the user dynamic, decentralized, and simple authorization management. Finally, this thesis focuses on deploying the CASPaaS service closer to the users based on an Edge Computing infrastructure. In this context, we propose a new dynamic placement strategy for this service. This strategy uses artificial intelligence techniques to ensure an efficient placement while optimizing the different performances (network, service, nodes capacities, placement process, etc.).

    Cette thèse a pour objet l'analyse des conditions de la durabilité de l'agriculture d'une campagne de nouvelle ruralité, la Balagne maritime touristique au nord-ouest de la Corse. Considérant qu'un développement agricole durable repose sur des exploitants agricoles qui ont les capacités de pratiquer une agriculture multifonctionnelle, et que leurs pratiques sont largement conditionnées par le jeu des acteurs autour de la place et des fonctions de l'agriculture dans le territoire, une analyse systémique de la problématique est menée. Celle-ci s'appuie sur le concept de système agraire, alors inscrit dans un méta-système territorial. La présentation de ce cadre méthodologique et pratique réactualisé fait l'objet de la première partie de la thèse. Il est ensuite montré dans une seconde partie comment les interactions dynamiques entre des événements d'ordres démographiques, socio-économiques et politiques ont conduit à transformer la société horto-pastorale des années 1950 en territoire mixte, rural touristique : l'agriculture, entre pression foncière et valorisation touristique du patrimoine rural, y est au cœur d'enjeux contradictoires. Ces résultats sont notamment issus d'une étude statistique très précise des données SAFER Corse sur la période 1998-2008, ainsi que de l'analyse des plans et projets d'aménagement rural. La troisième partie expose enfin le fonctionnement technico-économique des systèmes de production agricole, et met en exergue que les exploitants qui répondent à, et tirent profit de la demande touristique de patrimoine rural possèdent un usage garanti du foncier exploité. Pourtant, si la maîtrise foncière est une condition nécessaire à un développement durable, elle n'est pas suffisante. Pour conclure, des pistes pour améliorer la durabilité de l'agriculture en Balagne sont suggérées. This thesis aims to analyse conditions for the sustainability of agriculture in a new rurality countryside, the sea-side Balagne, a touristic territory located in Northwest Corsica. This case study tackles the role of agriculture in the reorganization of rural territories. We assume that sustainable agricultural development now relies on the ability of farmers to use a multifunctional agriculture that supplies society with goods and both market and non-market services. The first section of this study presents the conceptual approach, both methodological and practical: the land system concept is therefore included in a territorial meta-system in order to point out the role of territorial actors as regards to the place and functions of farming. This concept supports the systemic analysis conducted in Balagne, the results of which are exposed in the two subsequent sections. First, it is shown how dynamic interactions between demographic, socio-economic, and political events have resulted in a shift from the agrarian society of the Fifties to a dual territory, both rural and touristic. As a subject torn between land pressure and the touristic development of rural assets, agriculture is at the heart of contradictory stakes. The final section of this study, based on the mechanism of land production systems, brings to light the fact that farmers using touristic demand for land capital are ensured usage of the farmed land. Nevertheless, even if owning the land is a necessary condition for a "sustainabland" development, it is insufficient. To conclude, ways to improve the sustainability of agriculture are suggested.

    Authors: Nasrallah, Ali;

    Avec une production mondiale dépassant 750 millions de tonnes en 2017, le blé est considéré comme un aliment de base pour la population mondiale. Sa cartographie et sa surveillance pourraient alors se révéler être un outil très efficace pour atteindre les objectifs de développement durable (ODD2-Faim zéro). Au Liban, en vue d’assurer la sécurité alimentaire nationale, le blé reçoit un soutien financier et technique du gouvernement. Cependant, de nombreuses erreurs dans l'estimation de la superficie en blé à travers le pays sont dues principalement aux déclarations peu fiables des agriculteurs. De plus, le choix du système de culture basé sur le blé (en termes de type de rotation et de pratiques agricoles) peut avoir un impact considérable sur la productivité du système (protéines et rentabilité), l'efficacité d'utilisation des ressources (efficacité d'utilisation de l'eau et utilisation de l’azote), ainsi que sur le risque économique pour les agriculteurs. La présente étude menée dans la plaine de la Bekaa au Liban a pour objectif d'utiliser la télédétection et la modélisation de la croissance des cultures pour fournir aux décideurs politiques et aux utilisateurs finaux les informations dont ils ont besoin sur le blé d’hiver.La première partie évalue le potentiel des images optiques pour la cartographie du blé d'hiver précoce en permettant le transfert de connaissances d'une année à l'autre (2016 et 2017) Les résultats montrent que, lorsque l'approche développée est appliquée à la série chronologique Sentinel-2 de 2017, en utilisant les données de vérité au sol 2016, la précision globale atteint 87,0%, tandis que, lorsqu'elle est mise en œuvre avec les données de vérité au sol 2017, elle est de 82,6% en 2016. Les classifications pour distinguer le blé d'hiver de céréales similaires (orge et triticale) sont réalisées jusqu'à six semaines avant la récolte.La deuxième partie examine la capacité des images radar en bande C du nouveau satellite Sentinel-1 à surveiller la culture de blé d'hiver en identifiant les stades phénologiques économiquement importants qui ne peuvent pas être détectés en utilisant uniquement les indices issus de l’optique (Sentinel-2). Les résultats montrent que la polarisation VV (incidence de 32°-34°) et VH (incidence de 43°-45°) sont respectivement préférables pour estimer les stades de l'épiaison et de pâteux mou. De plus, le rapport VV/VH (incidence de 32°-34°) est préférable pour détecter la germination et la récolte.La troisième partie a pour objectif de vérifier si la rotation blé-féverole, nécessitant des intrants agricoles extensifs (eau et azote), a une performance nettement meilleure que la rotation intensive blé-blé en termes de productivité, d’utilisation rationnelle des ressources, et de minimisation du risque économique à l’échelle parcellaire. Le modèle de croissance des cultures «CropSyst» a été adopté après avoir été calibré et validé sur notre zone d'étude. Les résultats montrent qu’il n’existe pas un scénario de système de culture optimal permettant d’assurer une productivité élevée, de réduire le risque économique et d’obtenir une efficacité élevée de l’utilisation de l’eau et de l’azote. Cependant, le scenario de rotation blé-féverole sans fertilisation du blé semble être un meilleur substitut à la rotation blé-blé en termes de production de protéines. Pour un sol avec une faible capacité de rétention, la production de protéines est de 0,93 t/ha et de 0,8 t/ha respectivement pour les rotations blé-féverole et blé-blé. Pour un sol avec capacité de rétention élevée, la production de protéines est de 1,34 t/ha pour blé-féverole contre 1,17 t/ha pour blé-blé. De plus, ce système de culture blé-féverole pourrait générer un bénéfice net plus élevé que celui du blé-blé. Enfin, la rotation blé-pomme de terre peut générer des bénéfices nets très élevés (8640 US DOLL./ha et 12170 US DOLL./ha) mais avec une faible efficacité des intrants et un risque économique élevé With global production exceeding 750 million tons in 2017, wheat is considered a staple food for the world's population. Wheat mapping and monitoring could then be a very effective tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG2-Zero Hunger). In Lebanon, wheat receives technical and financial support, yet many errors occur in estimating the wheat acreage due to absence of reliable agricultural census and lack of wheat mapping using satellite images. In addition, identifying the best rotation type and agricultural practices leads to identify the most efficient wheat-based cropping system in terms of productivity (protein production and net profit), efficiency (water and nitrogen use), as well as the economic risk on the farmer. Thus, The aim of the current study, which is conducted in the Bekaa plain of Lebanon, is to utilize remote sensing technology and crop modelling for supporting policy makers and end-users in making strategic decisions regarding one of the most food security-driving crop in the Mediterranean (i.e. winter wheat).The first part of the thesis evaluates the potential of optical data for early winter wheat mapping by allowing the transfer of knowledge from one year to another (2016 and 2017 in this study). For its high spatial and temporal resolutions, Sentinel-2 data are employed. Results show that when the developed approach was applied on Sentinel-2 time series of 2017 in using 2016 ground truth data, the overall accuracy reaches 87.0%, whereas, when implemented using 2017 ground truth data, the overall accuracy is 82.6% on 2016 data. The outputs are executed up to six weeks before harvest, as well as distinguishing winter wheat from similar cereals (barley and triticale).The second part of the thesis examines the ability of the SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) C-band data of the new radar satellite (Sentinel-1) regarding its ability to monitor winter wheat crop by identifying the economically important phenological phases that cannot be detected relying solely on NDVI derived from optical satellite Sentinel-2. Results show that VV polarization at incidence angle of 32°-34° is best for predicting heading, VH polarization at incidence angle of 43°-45° for predicting soft dough, and the ratio VV/VH at incidence angle of 32°-34° for predicting germination and harvesting.The third part of the thesis is dedicated to test, in contrasted biophysical and management conditions, the hypothesis that promoting wheat-fava bean rotation leads to a significantly better productivity and resources use efficiency, as well as, reducing economic risk than the promoted intensive wheat-wheat and wheat-potato rotations. The cropping simulation model “CropSyst” is used after being calibrated and validated by using experimental data for different wheat-based rotations combining different soil, climate and management options. The results show that there is no particular optimal scenario that can simultaneously ensure high productivity, reduce economic risk, and achieve high wheat- water- and nitrogen-use efficiency. However, the wheat-fava bean rotation cultivated with no wheat fertilization appears to be a better substitute to the wheat-wheat rotation in terms of protein production in both (low and high) Water Holding Capacity (WHC) soils (0.93 t/ha versus 0.8 t/ha in low WHC and 1.34 t/ha versus 1.17 t/ha in high WHC). This cropping system could achieve a higher net profit, showing high resource-use efficiency and good economic sustainability. Moreover, a very high profit could only be attained with the wheat-potato rotation (8640 US DOLL./ha and 12170 US DOLL./ha), yet with low input-efficiency and high economic risk.

    Authors: Ritz, Simon;

    Depuis une quinzaine d’années, l’agglomération antique de Senon-Amel fait l’objet de nouvelles recherches pluri¬disciplinaires associant des techniques d’investigation non destructives (prospections pédestres, aériennes, géophysiques, LiDAR) et des opérations de fouilles (préventives et programmées). Ces nouvelles données montrent que le site se déve¬loppe sous la forme de deux pôles de vestiges à caractère urbain, distants de 1,5 km et occupés simultanément pendant la majeure partie de l’Antiquité romaine, du milieu du Ier siècle apr. J.-C. au milieu du IVe siècle apr. J.-C. au moins. Cette configuration bipolaire présente un caractère exceptionnel dans l’urbanisme du nord de la Gaule romaine, qu’il faut ten¬ter d’expliquer. Son expression la plus frappante réside sans doute dans la duplication des édifices publics : chaque pôle urbain est équipé d’une panoplie monumentale complète, comprenant plusieurs temples, des thermes et un théâtre. Dès lors, l’étude des processus qui sont à l’origine de cette composition urbaine particulière, puis des modalités selon lesquelles elle a évolué jusqu’au début du Moyen Âge, s’est imposée comme la problématique structurante de l’enquête. Elle est abordée au travers d’une analyse détaillée des formes et des dynamiques d’occupation de chaque pôle urbain sur le temps long, cherchant à mettre en évidence d’éventuelles spécificités fonctionnelles et à caractériser la nature de leurs relations aux différentes étapes de leur histoire. L’agglomération est également replacée dans son environnement microrégional, entendu au double sens de paysage anthropique et naturel, en partant du principe que les relations qu’entretient la ville avec son « pays d’alentour » participent à la compréhension de l’un et l’autre de ces espaces. Cette approche fondée sur la caractérisation des différentes composantes du système de peuplement microrégional forme le socle de la discussion sur l’origine et l’évolution du schéma urbain bipolaire. Elle met notamment en exergue le rôle de l’intégration politique des cités gauloises au cadre administratif romain, ainsi que l’incidence de l’économie du culte dans la bipolarisation de l’urba¬nisme. La trajectoire très originale de Senon-Amel contribue à enrichir notre connaissance de la diversité des processus de formation et d’évolution du fait urbain dans le nord de Gaule. Cependant, l’intérêt du site va au-delà de l’étude d’une forme urbaine singulière et somme toute anecdotique : la juxtaposition des deux pôles urbains fait ressortir leurs spécificités mieux qu’ailleurs, parce qu’on a ici la possibilité de les comparer dans le détail, en minimisant l’incidence d’états documentaires différents ou de spécificités régionales, qui peuvent biaiser les comparaisons à plus large échelle. On voit ainsi apparaître deux trajectoires urbaines complètement différentes, opposant schématiquement un habitat groupé d’origine laténienne qui a prospéré à l’époque romaine grâce à une économie orientée vers des activités artisanales et commerciales diversifiées, et un grand sanctuaire, plus vraisemblablement fondé au début de l’Empire qu’à La Tène, dont l’attractivité économique n’a que tardivement agrégé un habitat groupé. Si le voisinage de ces deux entités urbaines est très inhabituel, les processus qui président à leur formation et à leur évolution sont sans doute à l’oeuvre dans beaucoup d’autres agglomérations, et peuvent à ce titre être de plus ample enseignement que la seule histoire de Senon-Amel. Interdisciplinary investigations combining prospection techniques (field survey, aerial photography, geophysics, Li¬DAR) and excavations (preventive and university-led excavations) have been carried out for almost 15 years on the ar¬chaeological site of Senon-Amel. They have revealed the bipolarity of this roman town, which is split into two urban cen¬tres located 1.5 km apart, simultaneously inhabited during most of the Antiquity, from the middle of the 1st century A.D. to the middle of the 4th century at least. This urban layout is very unusual among the roman towns of northern Gaul and thus needs to be explained. Its most striking feature is the duplication of public monuments: both urban centres include temples, public baths and a theatre. This thesis discusses the origin and evolution of the bipolar frame. It highlights the role of the integration of Gallic civitates into the roman provincial administration, and the impact of a religious economy in the shap¬ing of the city. These processes obviously have an interest per se – they contribute to illustrate the varied origins of urban features in norther Gaul –, but they also have broader implications. Indeed, the closeness of the two urban centres allows us to study quite precisely their specific features and their origins, thanks to the consistency of the documentation. This comparison reveals two very different urban trajectories: broadly speaking, evidence suggests that Senon was preceded by an Iron Age settlement, which stayed occupied during the roman period and expanded thanks to the existence of a wide range of crafts and trade activities. On the other hand, Amel seems to have been created at the beginning of the Empire as a sanctuary, which only later aggregated dwelling houses and other private facilities. The juxtaposition of these two urban entities is very unusual, but the mechanisms that drove their setting-up and further evolution are certainly common to many other roman towns. As a result, the case study of Senon-Amel evidences processes that are of more general significance.

    Ce travail vise à construire un système compact et facile à mettre en œuvre de réflectométrie guidée par ondes térahertz (TGR) en tirant parti de l'émetteur-récepteur térahertz et des guides d'ondes pour diverses applications. Par rapport aux systèmes conventionnels utilisant une méthode quasi-optique, le nouveau concept a une configuration beaucoup plus simple et permet des applications de sondage à distance.Après des études sur le développement de la technologie térahertz, un émetteur-récepteur à double ACP à pompage optique et deux émetteurs-récepteurs radar à ondes continues modulées en fréquence (FMCW) ainsi que des guides d'ondes à parois minces à noyau creux sont sélectionnés pour mettre en œuvre le premier système TGR en mode impulsionnel et en mode FMCW. Les deux expériences et la simulation 3D pleine onde sont exploitées pour étudier les comportements de propagation des ondes à l'intérieur du système et pour évaluer les performances du système. Les systèmes TGR créés font l'objet d'une démonstration à des fins d'imagerie et de détection. Grâce à la capacité de guidage du guide d'ondes, ces installations présentent un potentiel dans certaines conditions de mesure difficiles, comme dans un environnement étroit et semi-fermé ou dans le liquide. En particulier, la lentille d'immersion solide insérée à l'extrémité du guide d'ondes s'est avérée être une méthode efficace pour améliorer la capacité d'imagerie du système TGR en mode FMCW, donnant lieu à une résolution de sous-longueur d'onde dans la bande de fréquences autour de 100 GHz.En plus des études sur les systèmes TGR, un système de réflectométrie sur plaquette exploitant des sources à pompage optique est également proposé pour bénéficier de la large bande de fréquences des sources photoniques. Comme première tentative, des sondes RF associées à un émetteur-récepteur à double ACP sont utilisées pour délivrer le signal d'impulsion dans des échantillons sur la tranche et les signaux temporels obtenus sont analysés. D'autres propositions sont faites pour pousser plus loin cette étude. This work aims to build up a compact easily-implemented terahertz wave-guided reflectometry (TGR) system by taking advantage of the terahertz transceiver and waveguides for diverse applications. Compared to conventional systems using a quasi-optical method, the new concept has a much simpler configuration and allows for remote probing applications.After reviews on the development of terahertz technology, an optical-pumped double-PCA transceiver and two frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar transceivers together with hollow-core thin-wall waveguides are selected to implement the first TGR system in pulse mode and in FMCW mode. Both experiments and 3D full-wave simulation are exploited to investigate the propagation behaviors of waves inside the system and to evaluate the system performance. The created TGR systems are demonstrated for imaging and sensing purposes. Thanks to the guiding capacity of the waveguide, these setups show potential in some difficult measurement conditions, such as in a narrow semi-enclosed environment or the liquid. In particular, the solid immersion lens inserted at the end of the waveguide has been proved as an efficient method to enhance the imaging capacity of the TGR system in FMCW mode, giving rise to a subwavelength resolution at the frequency band around 100 GHz.In addition to the studies of TGR systems, an on-wafer reflectometry system exploiting optical-pumped sources is as well proposed to benefit from the wide frequency band of photonic sources. As the first attempt, RF probes in association with double-PCA transceiver are used to deliver the pulse signal into samples on-wafer and the obtained time signals are analyzed. More propositions are given to push further up this study.

    Depuis deux décennies, le bois-énergie se développe fortement en Franche-Comté, notamment dans le secteur collectif/tertiaire. Face à l'épuisement prochain des connexes de scierie, la plaquette forestière (bois déchiqueté) est amenée à se développer. La question de l'approvisionnement devient alors centrale pour l'ensemble des acteurs de la filière, soulevant un grand nombre d'enjeux en matière d'aménagement territorial et forestier, de développement local, d'environnement... Parallèlement, des interrogations émergent : quelle quantité d'énergie peut-on mobiliser durablement ? La configuration spatiale et structurelle des espaces boisés a-t-elle une influence sur les processus d'approvisionnement ? Cherche-t-on à minimiser les distances de transport ? Existe-t-il des phénomènes de concurrence spatiale entre les chaufferies ? Afin de comprendre l'organisation actuelle des approvisionnements, nous avons analysé deux jeux de données de traçabilité de plaquettes forestières. Puis, nous avons développé une démarche visant à modéliser des bassins d'approvisionnement locaux, tenant compte des contraintes de renouvelabilité de la ressource, et des conflits d'usage, en couplant diverses sources d'information : indices de végétation issus de l'imagerie satellitaire, données dendrométriques, cartographie forestière, et tables de production. L'objectif de cette démarche était double : d'une part savoir si les deux terrains d'études choisis étaient en mesure d'assurer eux-mêmes l'approvisionnement de leurs propres chaufferies, d'autre part mettre en évidence les phénomènes de concurrence spatiale des différents bassins d'approvisionnement, et la contribution des différents types de peuplement. Cela a notamment permis de montrer l'importance du gisement énergétique des arbres isolés, à notre connaissance encore jamais évalué à une échelle infra-régionale In a context of strong increase of fuelwood demand in the collective sector, the supply issue becomes central to all stakeholders, raising many issues relating to land and forestry planning, local development, environment ... Meanwhile, questions emerge: how much energy can be mobilized sustainably? Does the spatial and structural configuration of forests influence the supply process? Do we seek to minimize transport distances? Can we observe spatial competition between the boilers ? To understand the current organization of supplies, we analyzed two sets of data traceability of wood chips. Then, we have developed a model of local supply basins, considering constraints of renewability of the resource, and conflicts of use, by combining various information sources: vegetation index derived from satellite imagery, forest mapping and production tables. The objective of this approach was dual : to determine the quantity of forest chips workable on a territory, and to highlight the spatial competition between the different basins supply, and the contribution of different tree species. This has enabled to show the importance of the energy potential of isolated trees, to our knowledge not previously evaluated in a sub-regional scale.

    Depuis environ cinq ans, les systèmes hybrides neurosymboliques (SHNS) combinent réseaux de neurones artificiels et systèmes symboliques (systèmes à base de connaissances), dans le but de profiter de leurs points forts respectifs. Nous présentons une taxonomie des nombreux SHNS existants, selon deux points de vue, le degré de couplage (faible, étroit, fort) et le type d'interactions (pré/post-traitement, sous-traitance, coopération, méta-traitement). La taxonomie comprend aussi deux approches moins hybrides de l'intégration des caractéristiques des réseaux de neurones et des systèmes symboliques, l'approche purement neuronale et celle fondée sur des traductions. Nous étudions ensuite un SHNS existant, SYNHESYS, et examinons ses possibilités d'application en micro-électronique et en géographie alpine. Puis nous proposons une nouvelle architecture hybride, NESSY3L, et son application au pilotage réactif d'un robot mobile. L'architecture comporte trois niveaux coopérants, neuronal pur, neurosymbolique, symbolique pur, et a été intégrée dans le simulateur de robot MOLUSC. Cette architecture offre des perspectives intéressantes pour les SHNS, dont la prise en compte du temps, le développement de mécanismes inter-niveaux et l'évolution vers un couplage fort, l'utilisation d'idées provenant des autres approches de l'intégration neurosymbolique. For several years, hybrid neurosymbolic systems (HNSS) have combined artificial neural networks with symbolic systems (knowledge-based systems), in order to take advantage of their strengths. We present a taxonomy of the numerous existing HNSS, according to two perspectives: the degree of coupling (weak, tight, strong), and the interaction type (pre/postprocessing, subprocessing, coprocessing, metaprocessing). The taxonomy also embodies two other less hybrid approaches of neurosymbolic integration: one is purely neural and the other is translation-based. Then we study an existing HNSS, SYNHESYS, and we examine its application possibilities in micro-electronics and alpine geography. Then we propose a new hybrid architecture, NESSY3L, and its application to the reactive control of a mobile robot. The architecture consists of three levels, purely neural, neurosymbolic, purely symbolic, and it has been integrated into the robot simulator MOLUSC. This architecture offers interesting prospects for the HNSS, among which are i) taking time into account, ii) development of inter-levels mechanisms and evolution towards strong coupling, iii) use of ideas from other approaches of neurosymbolic integration.

    Les robots parallèles à câbles présentent l'intérêt d'un grand espace de travail comparativement à des robots manipulateurs classiques. En contrepartie, la présence des câbles induit des collisions possibles supplémentaires, et des contraintes de positivité sur les tensions des câbles. La plateforme logicielle HPP développée dans l'équipe GEPETTO du LAAS permet de planifier des mouvements et des tâches de manipulation pour des systèmes articulés dans des environnements encombrés par des obstacles.Le travail réalisé au cours de cette thèse a permis d'appliquer les algorithmes existant dans la plateforme HPP aux robots parallèles à câbles. Le travail de recherche de cette thèse apporte des solutions au problème de validation continue de trajectoires pour les robots parallèles à câbles. Dans un premier temps, un algorithme de validation continue de collision est étendu pour prendre en compte toutes les paires de collisions contenant des câbles. Cet algorithme se base sur le calcul d'un majorant de la vitesse relative de deux corps afin de valider successivement des portions du chemin. Dans un deuxième temps, ce même algorithme de validation continue est étendu afin de valider les conditions de tensions des câbles.Ensemble, la validation continue de collision et la validation continue de tensions forment une méthode de validation continue globale pour robots parallèles à câbles. Cette méthode est utilisée au sein d'algorithmes de planification probabilistespour effectuer de la planification de mouvement pour robots à câbles. Des scénarios représentant des tâches de logistiques ou des tâches industrielles sont testés en simulation ainsi qu'en réel sur le robot CoGiRo. Cable-driven parallel robots have large workspaces compared to standard manipulator robots. In return, the presence of cables creates additionnal possible collisions, as well as positivity contraints on the cables tensions. The software platform HPP was developped by the GEPETTO team from the LAAS laboratory for motion planning and manipulation planning for articulated systems in cluttered environement.This thesis extends the algorithms within HPP to cable-driven parallel robots. The present research work provides solutions to the continuous trajectory validation for cable-driven parallel robots. First, a continuous collision detection algorithm is extended to take into account all the collisions pairs which include cables. This algorithm is based on the computation of an upper bound on the relative velocity between two bodies in order to succesively validate intervals of the trajectory. Secondly, this same continuous validation algorithm is extended to handle the validation of the cable tensions.Together, the continuous collision detection and the continous tension validation form a global continuous validation method for cable-driven parallel robots. This method is used within probabilistic planning algorithm to plan manipulation movements for cable robots. Several scenarios representing industrial tasks are tested with the robot CoGiRo both in simulation as well as on the real robot.

    Les petits peptides cycliques représentent une classe émergente et prometteuse de molécules thérapeutiques. Cependant le manque de connaissance de leur espace conformationnel rend difficile leur conception et la prédiction de leur structure. Afin de pouvoir améliorer les connaissances sur ces molécules aux propriétés uniques, nous avons voulu développer une approche alternative à celles existantes permettant la caractérisation la plus précise possible de leur espace conformationnel. Pour cela, nous avons développé une méthode EGSCyP, s'appuyant sur une représentation multi-niveaux du peptide : une représentation mécanique et l'utilisation d'algorithme issus du domaine de la robotique permettant une approche globale puis une amélioration de la précision en modèle tout atome. EGSCyP a été développé pour gérer les résidus modifiés tels que les résidus de forme D et N-méthylés. Cette méthode a été comparée à des simulations de dynamique moléculaire par échange de répliques et des données expérimentales pour la valider. Elle a été appliquée à un ensemble de pentapeptides cycliques RGD dérivés de la Cilengitide, un anticancéreux. Notre approche a montré de bonnes performances notamment en ce qui concerne la complétude de l'espace conformationnel de ces peptides et a permis d'évaluer l'impact des modifications chimiques telles que les résidus en forme D ou N-méthylés sur ce paysage conformationnel. Small cyclic peptides represent an emerging and promising class of therapeutic molecules. However, the lack of knowledge on their conformational space makes their design difficult as well as the prediction of their structure. In order to improve knowledge on these molecules with unique properties, we wanted to develop an alternative approach to those existing allowing the most exhaustive characterization of their conformational space. For that, we have developed EGSCyP method, based on a multi-level representation of the peptide: a mechanical representation and the use of robotics inspired algorithms allowing a global search and then a refinement in an all atom model. EGSCyP was developped to deal with D-amino acids and N-methylated residues. This method has been compared to replica exchange molecular dynamics simulations and experimental data to validate the approach. It has been applied to a set of cyclic pentapeptides RGD derived from Cilengitide, an anticancer drug. Our method has shown good performances, particularly with regard to the completeness of the conformational space of these peptides, and has made possible to evaluate the impact of the chemical modifications like the D-amino acids or N-methylated ones on this conformational landscape.

    Authors: Connier, Jean;

    Visual impairment and blindness are sources of mobility difficulties for the affected people. In orderto lighten the burden of these difficulties, many mobility aids have been imagined, designed, tested, and more or less adopted. Designers of such assistive systems soon run into the complexity of the issue, which stands at the intersection of three domains that are, by themselves, complex: visual impairment, mobility, and perception.Having decided to design an electronic assistive system from the beginning, we tried to step back and analyzed a wide range of blind aids: white canes, mobile electronic devices serving different mobility purposes, urban systems, and systems not primarily designed for mobility. Their diversity helped us analyze assistive systems through several prisms: according to their technical characteristics, their functions, their shape, and their dependence to an infrastructure. Taken individually, each of these approaches quickly shows its limits, but, together, they draw an interesting portrait of the existing devices. Besides these rather classical approaches, we propose a new model for analyzing assistive systems, which relies on the way these systems take place in a person's perception / mobility process. This model has the advantages of being, a priori, relevant forall assistive systems – in spite of their dissimilarity – and meaningful for both evaluation and classification.We have designed and built an electronic mobility aid, called the 2SEES system. Like its predecessor, the SEES system, the 2SEES relies on three platforms: a smart cane, a smartphone, anda cloud computing back-end. The issues of energy consumption and geographical universality, essential for any mobile device, are made explicit and studied. A novelty of the 2SEES resides in its account of reliability issues ; it is thus designed around the complex equilibrium between energy consumption, universality, and reliability. Despite their importance in a system destined to be adopted by end users, these three notions are scarcely visible in the relevant literature.To concurrently enhance robustness and autonomy, we have integrated several sensors and processors in the smart cane, both by introducing redundancy, for fault tolerance, and by integratingheterogeneous sensors, for robustness against the diversity of environments.Two aspects of this equilibrium have been further studied. First, the need for robustness has been highlighted by a study of affinities between obstacle sensors and several types of potential obstacle materials. Secondly, we have tried to develop an energy-efficient indoor localization function that islittle dependent on infrastructures, and therefore easily scalable. This function works with embedded sensors (wheel encoder, inertial measurement unit) and a simplified particle filter, which estimates the position by checking the coherence of trajectories derived from sensor data against themap of the location.In addition to this work on the balance between robustness, energy consumption, and universality, we have developed a novel function, named SO2SEES, which allows communication between usersof the 2SEES and smart objects. This function enables users to ask, in natural language, questions tothe 2SEES, which are answered using information coming from surrounding smart objects. In orderto keep the system simple, users do not formulate their own questions, but are instead invited to pick them in a set of predefined questions, which are proposed by the system according to the nearby objects and the information they offer. This mode of operation shifts the system from a natural language processing artificial intelligence to an expert system working on dynamic and distributed knowledge bases. In this latter configuration, the main issue is the interoperability between the 2SEES and the smart objects and their back-ends that take part in the functionality. Malvoyance et cécité sont sources d'importantes difficultés de mobilité chez les personnes qu'elles touchent. Pour tenter d'alléger la charge que font peser ces difficultés, des dispositifs d'assistance variés ont été imaginés, conçus, testés, et parfois adoptés. La conception de tels dispositifs d'assistance à la mobilité se heurte à l'ampleur de la problématique, située à l'intersection de trois domaines déjà individuellement complexes : malvoyance, mobilité, et perception. L'analyse de plusieurs types de dispositifs d'assistance – cannes classiques, électroniques, dispositifs urbains, dispositifs non directement dédiés à la mobilité – nous a aidé à faire ressortir plusieurs angles d'approche, selon les caractéristiques techniques, les fonctionnalités, la forme, et la dépendance à une infrastructure. Pris ensemble, ils ont permis de dresser un portrait général des dispositifs existants. À côté de ces approches assez classiques, nous proposons un modèle d'analyse des dispositifs selon la manière dont ils s'insèrent dans le processus perception / mobilité des personnes. Ce modèle présente l'intérêt de pouvoir s'appliquer, a priori, à l'ensemble des dispositifs et d'être à la fois pertinent dans leur évaluation et leur classification. Nous avons conçu et développé un dispositif d'assistance électronique, le système 2SEES reposant, comme son prédécesseur le SEES, sur trois plates-formes : une canne intelligente, un smartphone, et un serveur. Les problématiques d'autonomie et d'universalité, primordiales dans tout dispositif électronique mobile, sont explicitées et approfondies. Une nouveauté est la prise en compte des problématiques de robustesse : le 2SEES est donc construit autour de l'équilibre complexe entre autonomie, universalité, et robustesse, notions relativement peu visibles dans les travaux existants. Pour augmenter à la fois la robustesse et l'autonomie, nous avons intégré un nombre important de capteurs et de processeurs dans la canne, à la fois par la duplication de composants, de façon à augmenter la tolérance aux pannes, et par l'intégration de composants hétérogènes, afin d'augmenter la robustesse face à la diversité des environnements. Deux aspects de cet équilibre ont été plus spécifiquement étudiés. D'une part, la nécessité de robustesse a été mise en évidence par une analyse des affinités entre plusieurs types de capteurs d'obstacles et différents matériaux constituants potentiels d'obstacles. D'autre part, nous avons développé un prototype de fonctionnalité de localisation peu dépendante d'infrastructures, et donc déployable rapidement, ainsi qu'économe en énergie. Cette fonctionnalité repose principalement sur des capteurs embarqués (encodeur de roue, capteurs inertiels) et sur un filtre particulaire simplifié, qui estime la position de la personne en vérifiant la cohérence de trajectoires dérivées des données capteurs avec la carte du lieu. Outre la recherche de cet équilibre entre robustesse, autonomie, et universalité, nous avons développé une fonctionnalité novatrice de communication avec les objets intelligents, nommée SO2SEES. Cette fonctionnalité permet à l'utilisateur de poser des questions en langage naturel au système 2SEES, auxquelles ce dernier répond en exploitant les informations mises à disposition par les objets intelligents environnants. Afin de simplifier le système, la personne ne pose pas ses propres questions, mais les sélectionne dans un ensemble proposé en fonction du contexte formé parles objets présents et les données qu'ils mettent à disposition. Ce choix entraîne un basculement d'un système de compréhension du langage naturel, fonctionnant classiquement grâce à l'apprentissage machine, vers un système expert travaillant sur des bases de connaissances distribuées et dynamiques. Aujourd’hui, les nombreuses applications de l’Internet des Objets (IoT : Internet of Things) peuvent significativement améliorer la vie quotidienne des utilisateurs. Grâce à ces applications, il est possible de commander à distance les différents appareils de la maison, surveiller les signes vitaux d’un patient et alerter automatiquement son médecin en cas de problème. Cependant, les problèmes de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée empêchent les utilisateurs de faire pleinement confiance à ces applications, ce qui peut avoir pour effet de ralentir l’adoption globale de ces technologies et leur large déploiement. Pour résoudre ces problèmes de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée, plusieurs solutions ont été proposées. Cependant, plusieurs défis restent encore à relever pour permettre une large adoption de ces applications. L’approche centrée sur l’utilisateur semble être très pertinente pour relever un grand nombre de ces défis. Pour offrir une sécurité et une protection de la vie privée centrées sur l’utilisateur et permettre la prise en charge de nombreuses applications IoT, les travaux de cette thèse proposent d’adapter la mise en œuvre des mécanismes de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée en fonction du contexte de l’utilisateur. Dans un premier temps, cette thèse présente l’architecture CASPaaS (Context-Aware Security and Privacy as a Service). Cette architecture de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée sensibles au contexte pour l’IoT est basée sur l’approche ‘as a service’. Elle garantit l’adaptation dynamique et personnalisée des services de sécurité et de protection de la vie privée en fonction du contexte de l’utilisateur. Grâce à la conception ‘as a service’, cette architecture se caractérise par une grande flexibilité qui lui permet de prendre en charge de nombreuses applications IoT. Dans un second temps, cette thèse présente un système permettant de gérer la sécurité et la fiabilité de l’architecture CASPaaS elle-même. Ce système, appelé SETUCOM (SEcure and TrUstworthy COntext Management) gère la sécurité des données contextuelles échangées au sein de l’architecture CASPaaS ainsi que la confiance des sources de données. Ceci permet de pallier un grand nombre d’attaques pouvant conduire au disfonctionnement de notre architecture CASPaaS. Dans un troisième temps, cette thèse présente un nouveau système de gestion décentralisée des autorisations sensibles au contexte pour l’IoT. Ce système, basé également sur l’approche ‘as a service’, offre à l’utilisateur une gestion dynamique, décentralisée et simple des autorisations. Dans un dernier temps, cette thèse s’intéresse au déploiement du service CASPaaS au plus proche des utilisateurs en se basant sur une infrastructure de type Edge Computing. Dans ce contexte, nous proposons une nouvelle stratégie de placement dynamique de ce service. Cette stratégie fait appel à des techniques de l’intelligence artificielle afin de garantir un placement efficace tout en optimisant les différentes performances (réseau, service, capacités des nœuds Edge, processus de placement lui-même, etc.). Today, the Internet of Things (IoT) applications can significantly improve the daily life of users. Thanks to these applications, it is possible to control the various devices in the home remotely, monitor a patient's vital signs, and automatically alert his doctor when problems occur. However, security and privacy issues hinder the users to trust fully these applications, what may have as effect to slow down the overall adoption of these technologies and their widespread deployment. Several solutions have been proposed to address these security and privacy issues. Despite this, several challenges still need to be overcome to enable the global adoption of this type of application. The user-centric approach seems to be very relevant to address a large number of these challenges. To provide user-centric security and privacy protection and to enable the numerous IoT applications support, this thesis proposes to adapt the implementation of security and privacy protection mechanisms based on the user context and enable support for many IoT applications. First, this thesis presents the CASPaaS (Context-Aware Security and Privacy as a Service) architecture. This context-aware security and privacy architecture for IoT is based on the 'as a service' approach. It ensures the dynamic, personalized adaptation of security and privacy services based on the user's context. Thanks to the 'as a service' design, this architecture is characterized by high flexibility that will make it able to support multiple IoT applications. In a second step, this thesis presents a system to manage the security and reliability of the CASPaaS architecture itself. This system, called SETUCOM (SEcure and TrUstworthy COntext Management), addresses the security of the contextual data exchanged within the CASPaaS architecture and the trustworthiness of these data sources. This allows mitigating a large number of attacks that can lead to the malfunctioning of our CASPaaS architecture. In a third step, this thesis presents a new decentralized context-aware authorization management system for the IoT. This system, also based on the 'as a service' approach, offers the user dynamic, decentralized, and simple authorization management. Finally, this thesis focuses on deploying the CASPaaS service closer to the users based on an Edge Computing infrastructure. In this context, we propose a new dynamic placement strategy for this service. This strategy uses artificial intelligence techniques to ensure an efficient placement while optimizing the different performances (network, service, nodes capacities, placement process, etc.).

    Authors: Tafani, Caroline;

    Authors: Nasrallah, Ali;

    Avec une production mondiale dépassant 750 millions de tonnes en 2017, le blé est considéré comme un aliment de base pour la population mondiale. Sa cartographie et sa surveillance pourraient alors se révéler être un outil très efficace pour atteindre les objectifs de développement durable (ODD2-Faim zéro). Au Liban, en vue d’assurer la sécurité alimentaire nationale, le blé reçoit un soutien financier et technique du gouvernement. Cependant, de nombreuses erreurs dans l'estimation de la superficie en blé à travers le pays sont dues principalement aux déclarations peu fiables des agriculteurs. De plus, le choix du système de culture basé sur le blé (en termes de type de rotation et de pratiques agricoles) peut avoir un impact considérable sur la productivité du système (protéines et rentabilité), l'efficacité d'utilisation des ressources (efficacité d'utilisation de l'eau et utilisation de l’azote), ainsi que sur le risque économique pour les agriculteurs. La présente étude menée dans la plaine de la Bekaa au Liban a pour objectif d'utiliser la télédétection et la modélisation de la croissance des cultures pour fournir aux décideurs politiques et aux utilisateurs finaux les informations dont ils ont besoin sur le blé d’hiver.La première partie évalue le potentiel des images optiques pour la cartographie du blé d'hiver précoce en permettant le transfert de connaissances d'une année à l'autre (2016 et 2017) Les résultats montrent que, lorsque l'approche développée est appliquée à la série chronologique Sentinel-2 de 2017, en utilisant les données de vérité au sol 2016, la précision globale atteint 87,0%, tandis que, lorsqu'elle est mise en œuvre avec les données de vérité au sol 2017, elle est de 82,6% en 2016. Les classifications pour distinguer le blé d'hiver de céréales similaires (orge et triticale) sont réalisées jusqu'à six semaines avant la récolte.La deuxième partie examine la capacité des images radar en bande C du nouveau satellite Sentinel-1 à surveiller la culture de blé d'hiver en identifiant les stades phénologiques économiquement importants qui ne peuvent pas être détectés en utilisant uniquement les indices issus de l’optique (Sentinel-2). Les résultats montrent que la polarisation VV (incidence de 32°-34°) et VH (incidence de 43°-45°) sont respectivement préférables pour estimer les stades de l'épiaison et de pâteux mou. De plus, le rapport VV/VH (incidence de 32°-34°) est préférable pour détecter la germination et la récolte.La troisième partie a pour objectif de vérifier si la rotation blé-féverole, nécessitant des intrants agricoles extensifs (eau et azote), a une performance nettement meilleure que la rotation intensive blé-blé en termes de productivité, d’utilisation rationnelle des ressources, et de minimisation du risque économique à l’échelle parcellaire. Le modèle de croissance des cultures «CropSyst» a été adopté après avoir été calibré et validé sur notre zone d'étude. Les résultats montrent qu’il n’existe pas un scénario de système de culture optimal permettant d’assurer une productivité élevée, de réduire le risque économique et d’obtenir une efficacité élevée de l’utilisation de l’eau et de l’azote. Cependant, le scenario de rotation blé-féverole sans fertilisation du blé semble être un meilleur substitut à la rotation blé-blé en termes de production de protéines. Pour un sol avec une faible capacité de rétention, la production de protéines est de 0,93 t/ha et de 0,8 t/ha respectivement pour les rotations blé-féverole et blé-blé. Pour un sol avec capacité de rétention élevée, la production de protéines est de 1,34 t/ha pour blé-féverole contre 1,17 t/ha pour blé-blé. De plus, ce système de culture blé-féverole pourrait générer un bénéfice net plus élevé que celui du blé-blé. Enfin, la rotation blé-pomme de terre peut générer des bénéfices nets très élevés (8640 US DOLL./ha et 12170 US DOLL./ha) mais avec une faible efficacité des intrants et un risque économique élevé With global production exceeding 750 million tons in 2017, wheat is considered a staple food for the world's population. Wheat mapping and monitoring could then be a very effective tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG2-Zero Hunger). In Lebanon, wheat receives technical and financial support, yet many errors occur in estimating the wheat acreage due to absence of reliable agricultural census and lack of wheat mapping using satellite images. In addition, identifying the best rotation type and agricultural practices leads to identify the most efficient wheat-based cropping system in terms of productivity (protein production and net profit), efficiency (water and nitrogen use), as well as the economic risk on the farmer. Thus, The aim of the current study, which is conducted in the Bekaa plain of Lebanon, is to utilize remote sensing technology and crop modelling for supporting policy makers and end-users in making strategic decisions regarding one of the most food security-driving crop in the Mediterranean (i.e. winter wheat).The first part of the thesis evaluates the potential of optical data for early winter wheat mapping by allowing the transfer of knowledge from one year to another (2016 and 2017 in this study). For its high spatial and temporal resolutions, Sentinel-2 data are employed. Results show that when the developed approach was applied on Sentinel-2 time series of 2017 in using 2016 ground truth data, the overall accuracy reaches 87.0%, whereas, when implemented using 2017 ground truth data, the overall accuracy is 82.6% on 2016 data. The outputs are executed up to six weeks before harvest, as well as distinguishing winter wheat from similar cereals (barley and triticale).The second part of the thesis examines the ability of the SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) C-band data of the new radar satellite (Sentinel-1) regarding its ability to monitor winter wheat crop by identifying the economically important phenological phases that cannot be detected relying solely on NDVI derived from optical satellite Sentinel-2. Results show that VV polarization at incidence angle of 32°-34° is best for predicting heading, VH polarization at incidence angle of 43°-45° for predicting soft dough, and the ratio VV/VH at incidence angle of 32°-34° for predicting germination and harvesting.The third part of the thesis is dedicated to test, in contrasted biophysical and management conditions, the hypothesis that promoting wheat-fava bean rotation leads to a significantly better productivity and resources use efficiency, as well as, reducing economic risk than the promoted intensive wheat-wheat and wheat-potato rotations. The cropping simulation model “CropSyst” is used after being calibrated and validated by using experimental data for different wheat-based rotations combining different soil, climate and management options. The results show that there is no particular optimal scenario that can simultaneously ensure high productivity, reduce economic risk, and achieve high wheat- water- and nitrogen-use efficiency. However, the wheat-fava bean rotation cultivated with no wheat fertilization appears to be a better substitute to the wheat-wheat rotation in terms of protein production in both (low and high) Water Holding Capacity (WHC) soils (0.93 t/ha versus 0.8 t/ha in low WHC and 1.34 t/ha versus 1.17 t/ha in high WHC). This cropping system could achieve a higher net profit, showing high resource-use efficiency and good economic sustainability. Moreover, a very high profit could only be attained with the wheat-potato rotation (8640 US DOLL./ha and 12170 US DOLL./ha), yet with low input-efficiency and high economic risk.

    Depuis une quinzaine d’années, l’agglomération antique de Senon-Amel fait l’objet de nouvelles recherches pluri¬disciplinaires associant des techniques d’investigation non destructives (prospections pédestres, aériennes, géophysiques, LiDAR) et des opérations de fouilles (préventives et programmées). Ces nouvelles données montrent que le site se déve¬loppe sous la forme de deux pôles de vestiges à caractère urbain, distants de 1,5 km et occupés simultanément pendant la majeure partie de l’Antiquité romaine, du milieu du Ier siècle apr. J.-C. au milieu du IVe siècle apr. J.-C. au moins. Cette configuration bipolaire présente un caractère exceptionnel dans l’urbanisme du nord de la Gaule romaine, qu’il faut ten¬ter d’expliquer. Son expression la plus frappante réside sans doute dans la duplication des édifices publics : chaque pôle urbain est équipé d’une panoplie monumentale complète, comprenant plusieurs temples, des thermes et un théâtre. Dès lors, l’étude des processus qui sont à l’origine de cette composition urbaine particulière, puis des modalités selon lesquelles elle a évolué jusqu’au début du Moyen Âge, s’est imposée comme la problématique structurante de l’enquête. Elle est abordée au travers d’une analyse détaillée des formes et des dynamiques d’occupation de chaque pôle urbain sur le temps long, cherchant à mettre en évidence d’éventuelles spécificités fonctionnelles et à caractériser la nature de leurs relations aux différentes étapes de leur histoire. L’agglomération est également replacée dans son environnement microrégional, entendu au double sens de paysage anthropique et naturel, en partant du principe que les relations qu’entretient la ville avec son « pays d’alentour » participent à la compréhension de l’un et l’autre de ces espaces. Cette approche fondée sur la caractérisation des différentes composantes du système de peuplement microrégional forme le socle de la discussion sur l’origine et l’évolution du schéma urbain bipolaire. Elle met notamment en exergue le rôle de l’intégration politique des cités gauloises au cadre administratif romain, ainsi que l’incidence de l’économie du culte dans la bipolarisation de l’urba¬nisme. La trajectoire très originale de Senon-Amel contribue à enrichir notre connaissance de la diversité des processus de formation et d’évolution du fait urbain dans le nord de Gaule. Cependant, l’intérêt du site va au-delà de l’étude d’une forme urbaine singulière et somme toute anecdotique : la juxtaposition des deux pôles urbains fait ressortir leurs spécificités mieux qu’ailleurs, parce qu’on a ici la possibilité de les comparer dans le détail, en minimisant l’incidence d’états documentaires différents ou de spécificités régionales, qui peuvent biaiser les comparaisons à plus large échelle. On voit ainsi apparaître deux trajectoires urbaines complètement différentes, opposant schématiquement un habitat groupé d’origine laténienne qui a prospéré à l’époque romaine grâce à une économie orientée vers des activités artisanales et commerciales diversifiées, et un grand sanctuaire, plus vraisemblablement fondé au début de l’Empire qu’à La Tène, dont l’attractivité économique n’a que tardivement agrégé un habitat groupé. Si le voisinage de ces deux entités urbaines est très inhabituel, les processus qui président à leur formation et à leur évolution sont sans doute à l’oeuvre dans beaucoup d’autres agglomérations, et peuvent à ce titre être de plus ample enseignement que la seule histoire de Senon-Amel. Interdisciplinary investigations combining prospection techniques (field survey, aerial photography, geophysics, Li¬DAR) and excavations (preventive and university-led excavations) have been carried out for almost 15 years on the ar¬chaeological site of Senon-Amel. They have revealed the bipolarity of this roman town, which is split into two urban cen¬tres located 1.5 km apart, simultaneously inhabited during most of the Antiquity, from the middle of the 1st century A.D. to the middle of the 4th century at least. This urban layout is very unusual among the roman towns of northern Gaul and thus needs to be explained. Its most striking feature is the duplication of public monuments: both urban centres include temples, public baths and a theatre. This thesis discusses the origin and evolution of the bipolar frame. It highlights the role of the integration of Gallic civitates into the roman provincial administration, and the impact of a religious economy in the shap¬ing of the city. These processes obviously have an interest per se – they contribute to illustrate the varied origins of urban features in norther Gaul –, but they also have broader implications. Indeed, the closeness of the two urban centres allows us to study quite precisely their specific features and their origins, thanks to the consistency of the documentation. This comparison reveals two very different urban trajectories: broadly speaking, evidence suggests that Senon was preceded by an Iron Age settlement, which stayed occupied during the roman period and expanded thanks to the existence of a wide range of crafts and trade activities. On the other hand, Amel seems to have been created at the beginning of the Empire as a sanctuary, which only later aggregated dwelling houses and other private facilities. The juxtaposition of these two urban entities is very unusual, but the mechanisms that drove their setting-up and further evolution are certainly common to many other roman towns. As a result, the case study of Senon-Amel evidences processes that are of more general significance.

    Ce travail vise à construire un système compact et facile à mettre en œuvre de réflectométrie guidée par ondes térahertz (TGR) en tirant parti de l'émetteur-récepteur térahertz et des guides d'ondes pour diverses applications. Par rapport aux systèmes conventionnels utilisant une méthode quasi-optique, le nouveau concept a une configuration beaucoup plus simple et permet des applications de sondage à distance.Après des études sur le développement de la technologie térahertz, un émetteur-récepteur à double ACP à pompage optique et deux émetteurs-récepteurs radar à ondes continues modulées en fréquence (FMCW) ainsi que des guides d'ondes à parois minces à noyau creux sont sélectionnés pour mettre en œuvre le premier système TGR en mode impulsionnel et en mode FMCW. Les deux expériences et la simulation 3D pleine onde sont exploitées pour étudier les comportements de propagation des ondes à l'intérieur du système et pour évaluer les performances du système. Les systèmes TGR créés font l'objet d'une démonstration à des fins d'imagerie et de détection. Grâce à la capacité de guidage du guide d'ondes, ces installations présentent un potentiel dans certaines conditions de mesure difficiles, comme dans un environnement étroit et semi-fermé ou dans le liquide. En particulier, la lentille d'immersion solide insérée à l'extrémité du guide d'ondes s'est avérée être une méthode efficace pour améliorer la capacité d'imagerie du système TGR en mode FMCW, donnant lieu à une résolution de sous-longueur d'onde dans la bande de fréquences autour de 100 GHz.En plus des études sur les systèmes TGR, un système de réflectométrie sur plaquette exploitant des sources à pompage optique est également proposé pour bénéficier de la large bande de fréquences des sources photoniques. Comme première tentative, des sondes RF associées à un émetteur-récepteur à double ACP sont utilisées pour délivrer le signal d'impulsion dans des échantillons sur la tranche et les signaux temporels obtenus sont analysés. D'autres propositions sont faites pour pousser plus loin cette étude. This work aims to build up a compact easily-implemented terahertz wave-guided reflectometry (TGR) system by taking advantage of the terahertz transceiver and waveguides for diverse applications. Compared to conventional systems using a quasi-optical method, the new concept has a much simpler configuration and allows for remote probing applications.After reviews on the development of terahertz technology, an optical-pumped double-PCA transceiver and two frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar transceivers together with hollow-core thin-wall waveguides are selected to implement the first TGR system in pulse mode and in FMCW mode. Both experiments and 3D full-wave simulation are exploited to investigate the propagation behaviors of waves inside the system and to evaluate the system performance. The created TGR systems are demonstrated for imaging and sensing purposes. Thanks to the guiding capacity of the waveguide, these setups show potential in some difficult measurement conditions, such as in a narrow semi-enclosed environment or the liquid. In particular, the solid immersion lens inserted at the end of the waveguide has been proved as an efficient method to enhance the imaging capacity of the TGR system in FMCW mode, giving rise to a subwavelength resolution at the frequency band around 100 GHz.In addition to the studies of TGR systems, an on-wafer reflectometry system exploiting optical-pumped sources is as well proposed to benefit from the wide frequency band of photonic sources. As the first attempt, RF probes in association with double-PCA transceiver are used to deliver the pulse signal into samples on-wafer and the obtained time signals are analyzed. More propositions are given to push further up this study.

    Authors: Avocat, Helene;

    Depuis deux décennies, le bois-énergie se développe fortement en Franche-Comté, notamment dans le secteur collectif/tertiaire. Face à l'épuisement prochain des connexes de scierie, la plaquette forestière (bois déchiqueté) est amenée à se développer. La question de l'approvisionnement devient alors centrale pour l'ensemble des acteurs de la filière, soulevant un grand nombre d'enjeux en matière d'aménagement territorial et forestier, de développement local, d'environnement... Parallèlement, des interrogations émergent : quelle quantité d'énergie peut-on mobiliser durablement ? La configuration spatiale et structurelle des espaces boisés a-t-elle une influence sur les processus d'approvisionnement ? Cherche-t-on à minimiser les distances de transport ? Existe-t-il des phénomènes de concurrence spatiale entre les chaufferies ? Afin de comprendre l'organisation actuelle des approvisionnements, nous avons analysé deux jeux de données de traçabilité de plaquettes forestières. Puis, nous avons développé une démarche visant à modéliser des bassins d'approvisionnement locaux, tenant compte des contraintes de renouvelabilité de la ressource, et des conflits d'usage, en couplant diverses sources d'information : indices de végétation issus de l'imagerie satellitaire, données dendrométriques, cartographie forestière, et tables de production. L'objectif de cette démarche était double : d'une part savoir si les deux terrains d'études choisis étaient en mesure d'assurer eux-mêmes l'approvisionnement de leurs propres chaufferies, d'autre part mettre en évidence les phénomènes de concurrence spatiale des différents bassins d'approvisionnement, et la contribution des différents types de peuplement. Cela a notamment permis de montrer l'importance du gisement énergétique des arbres isolés, à notre connaissance encore jamais évalué à une échelle infra-régionale In a context of strong increase of fuelwood demand in the collective sector, the supply issue becomes central to all stakeholders, raising many issues relating to land and forestry planning, local development, environment ... Meanwhile, questions emerge: how much energy can be mobilized sustainably? Does the spatial and structural configuration of forests influence the supply process? Do we seek to minimize transport distances? Can we observe spatial competition between the boilers ? To understand the current organization of supplies, we analyzed two sets of data traceability of wood chips. Then, we have developed a model of local supply basins, considering constraints of renewability of the resource, and conflicts of use, by combining various information sources: vegetation index derived from satellite imagery, forest mapping and production tables. The objective of this approach was dual : to determine the quantity of forest chips workable on a territory, and to highlight the spatial competition between the different basins supply, and the contribution of different tree species. This has enabled to show the importance of the energy potential of isolated trees, to our knowledge not previously evaluated in a sub-regional scale.

    Depuis environ cinq ans, les systèmes hybrides neurosymboliques (SHNS) combinent réseaux de neurones artificiels et systèmes symboliques (systèmes à base de connaissances), dans le but de profiter de leurs points forts respectifs. Nous présentons une taxonomie des nombreux SHNS existants, selon deux points de vue, le degré de couplage (faible, étroit, fort) et le type d'interactions (pré/post-traitement, sous-traitance, coopération, méta-traitement). La taxonomie comprend aussi deux approches moins hybrides de l'intégration des caractéristiques des réseaux de neurones et des systèmes symboliques, l'approche purement neuronale et celle fondée sur des traductions. Nous étudions ensuite un SHNS existant, SYNHESYS, et examinons ses possibilités d'application en micro-électronique et en géographie alpine. Puis nous proposons une nouvelle architecture hybride, NESSY3L, et son application au pilotage réactif d'un robot mobile. L'architecture comporte trois niveaux coopérants, neuronal pur, neurosymbolique, symbolique pur, et a été intégrée dans le simulateur de robot MOLUSC. Cette architecture offre des perspectives intéressantes pour les SHNS, dont la prise en compte du temps, le développement de mécanismes inter-niveaux et l'évolution vers un couplage fort, l'utilisation d'idées provenant des autres approches de l'intégration neurosymbolique. For several years, hybrid neurosymbolic systems (HNSS) have combined artificial neural networks with symbolic systems (knowledge-based systems), in order to take advantage of their strengths. We present a taxonomy of the numerous existing HNSS, according to two perspectives: the degree of coupling (weak, tight, strong), and the interaction type (pre/postprocessing, subprocessing, coprocessing, metaprocessing). The taxonomy also embodies two other less hybrid approaches of neurosymbolic integration: one is purely neural and the other is translation-based. Then we study an existing HNSS, SYNHESYS, and we examine its application possibilities in micro-electronics and alpine geography. Then we propose a new hybrid architecture, NESSY3L, and its application to the reactive control of a mobile robot. The architecture consists of three levels, purely neural, neurosymbolic, purely symbolic, and it has been integrated into the robot simulator MOLUSC. This architecture offers interesting prospects for the HNSS, among which are i) taking time into account, ii) development of inter-levels mechanisms and evolution towards strong coupling, iii) use of ideas from other approaches of neurosymbolic integration.

    Les robots parallèles à câbles présentent l'intérêt d'un grand espace de travail comparativement à des robots manipulateurs classiques. En contrepartie, la présence des câbles induit des collisions possibles supplémentaires, et des contraintes de positivité sur les tensions des câbles. La plateforme logicielle HPP développée dans l'équipe GEPETTO du LAAS permet de planifier des mouvements et des tâches de manipulation pour des systèmes articulés dans des environnements encombrés par des obstacles.Le travail réalisé au cours de cette thèse a permis d'appliquer les algorithmes existant dans la plateforme HPP aux robots parallèles à câbles. Le travail de recherche de cette thèse apporte des solutions au problème de validation continue de trajectoires pour les robots parallèles à câbles. Dans un premier temps, un algorithme de validation continue de collision est étendu pour prendre en compte toutes les paires de collisions contenant des câbles. Cet algorithme se base sur le calcul d'un majorant de la vitesse relative de deux corps afin de valider successivement des portions du chemin. Dans un deuxième temps, ce même algorithme de validation continue est étendu afin de valider les conditions de tensions des câbles.Ensemble, la validation continue de collision et la validation continue de tensions forment une méthode de validation continue globale pour robots parallèles à câbles. Cette méthode est utilisée au sein d'algorithmes de planification probabilistespour effectuer de la planification de mouvement pour robots à câbles. Des scénarios représentant des tâches de logistiques ou des tâches industrielles sont testés en simulation ainsi qu'en réel sur le robot CoGiRo. Cable-driven parallel robots have large workspaces compared to standard manipulator robots. In return, the presence of cables creates additionnal possible collisions, as well as positivity contraints on the cables tensions. The software platform HPP was developped by the GEPETTO team from the LAAS laboratory for motion planning and manipulation planning for articulated systems in cluttered environement.This thesis extends the algorithms within HPP to cable-driven parallel robots. The present research work provides solutions to the continuous trajectory validation for cable-driven parallel robots. First, a continuous collision detection algorithm is extended to take into account all the collisions pairs which include cables. This algorithm is based on the computation of an upper bound on the relative velocity between two bodies in order to succesively validate intervals of the trajectory. Secondly, this same continuous validation algorithm is extended to handle the validation of the cable tensions.Together, the continuous collision detection and the continous tension validation form a global continuous validation method for cable-driven parallel robots. This method is used within probabilistic planning algorithm to plan manipulation movements for cable robots. Several scenarios representing industrial tasks are tested with the robot CoGiRo both in simulation as well as on the real robot.

    Les petits peptides cycliques représentent une classe émergente et prometteuse de molécules thérapeutiques. Cependant le manque de connaissance de leur espace conformationnel rend difficile leur conception et la prédiction de leur structure. Afin de pouvoir améliorer les connaissances sur ces molécules aux propriétés uniques, nous avons voulu développer une approche alternative à celles existantes permettant la caractérisation la plus précise possible de leur espace conformationnel. Pour cela, nous avons développé une méthode EGSCyP, s'appuyant sur une représentation multi-niveaux du peptide : une représentation mécanique et l'utilisation d'algorithme issus du domaine de la robotique permettant une approche globale puis une amélioration de la précision en modèle tout atome. EGSCyP a été développé pour gérer les résidus modifiés tels que les résidus de forme D et N-méthylés. Cette méthode a été comparée à des simulations de dynamique moléculaire par échange de répliques et des données expérimentales pour la valider. Elle a été appliquée à un ensemble de pentapeptides cycliques RGD dérivés de la Cilengitide, un anticancéreux. Notre approche a montré de bonnes performances notamment en ce qui concerne la complétude de l'espace conformationnel de ces peptides et a permis d'évaluer l'impact des modifications chimiques telles que les résidus en forme D ou N-méthylés sur ce paysage conformationnel. Small cyclic peptides represent an emerging and promising class of therapeutic molecules. However, the lack of knowledge on their conformational space makes their design difficult as well as the prediction of their structure. In order to improve knowledge on these molecules with unique properties, we wanted to develop an alternative approach to those existing allowing the most exhaustive characterization of their conformational space. For that, we have developed EGSCyP method, based on a multi-level representation of the peptide: a mechanical representation and the use of robotics inspired algorithms allowing a global search and then a refinement in an all atom model. EGSCyP was developped to deal with D-amino acids and N-methylated residues. This method has been compared to replica exchange molecular dynamics simulations and experimental data to validate the approach. It has been applied to a set of cyclic pentapeptides RGD derived from Cilengitide, an anticancer drug. Our method has shown good performances, particularly with regard to the completeness of the conformational space of these peptides, and has made possible to evaluate the impact of the chemical modifications like the D-amino acids or N-methylated ones on this conformational landscape.

    Authors: Connier, Jean;
