description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Conference object , Part of book or chapter of book 2016 FrancePublisher:Springer International Publishing Wenhua Zhu; Dexian Wang; Benoît Eynard; Matthieu Bricogne; Sébastien Remy;Part 4: Building Information Modeling (BIM); International audience; Large-scale 3D city building models have been widely used in urban planning, intelligent transportation, military simulation and other fields. The traditional ways of modeling generally have common problems such as low efficiency, waste of manpower and time consumption. How to find a rapid approach to automatically complete large-scale 3D modeling is a very hot research topic. In this paper we propose a novel approach of procedural modeling of buildings with CityEngine, which is combined with ArcGIS technology for the geographic information. This approach produces extensive architectural 3D models with high visual quality and geometric details at low cost. It includes following two contents concretely. At first, directly writing computer generated architecture (CGA) shape grammar to complete procedural modeling of building and other objects. Secondly, using facade modeling based on two-dimensional images to generate architectural model as well as creating high geometry details. It is validated that this novel approach of procedural modeling is a significant step forward that reduces a lot of modeling times by CGA shape grammars.

However, some decision-makers in companies discard digital transformation because they do not understand how it can be incorporated into their businesses. Therefore, academia, research centres, and technological clusters are responsible for building the infrastructures and providing the support and the training that will progressively change this mindset. This paper aims to report an experience on designing a training program to train the trainers under the digital transformation topic. To define strategies to understand better the companies (and professionals) needs and motivations and the requisites to deliver the training course, the focus group methodology was applied. In this paper, we present a training program methodology and structure that intend to respond to industrial requests and, in this way to accelerate the digital transformation of companies, especially SMEs.

The captive portal is designed on a Raspberry Pi 2 carrying an Apache HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) server and using iptables for redirections. It has a web configuration interface, developed with AngularJS, which communicates through HTTP request to the server side, developed in PHP, following the principle of a REST (REpresentational State Transfer) architecture. In addition to redirect users to the URL of a course, the interface is configurable in two modes: 1) fixed URL that sets an URL to which the user is redirected automatically, 2) hosting a local website which is used to load a web site in zip format on the device and then redirect users to this web site even when the device is not connected to any Ethernet network.

This positive characteristic of farming is acknowledged by the European Union's current policy with agri-environmental measures providing public financing of programs under several headings such as extensification, grassland maintenance, landscape, and nature protection. These policies are expected to be continued and even reinforced. They rely on voluntary agreements with farmers: entrants are compensated for complying with a package of prescribed farming practices designed to secure conservation goals. To be effective from an environmental perspective, uptake is a key factor.

International audience; The paper focuses on the study of strategies and tools to handle miniaturized components in the electronic industry. In particular, the paper presents an innovative device and method to manipulate microcomponents by vacuum. The device includes an original releasing system, that does not require any external actuation, to assist their release. Indeed, at the microscale, adhesion forces predominate over the gravitational force due to the small masses of the microcomponents, often leading to the failure of the release phase if a release strategy is not implemented. The device, able to eliminate the adhesion problem, is compared with a traditional vacuum microgripper in terms of grasping and releasing error and percentage. The results of preliminary experimental tests are discussed, demonstrating that the innovative microgripper represents an interesting solution for handling electronic components as well as different microparts.

The benefits of this agricultural intensification have however reached their limits since yields are no longer increasing for many crops, negative externalities on the environment and human health are now recognized and economic inequality between farmers have increased. Agroecology has been proposed to secure food supply with fewer or lower negative environmental and social impacts than intensive agriculture. Agroecology principles are based on the recognition that biodiversity in agroecosystems can provide more than only food, fibre and timber. Hence, biodiversity and its associated functions, such as pollination, pest control, and mechanisms that maintain or improve soil fertility, may improve production efficiency and sustainability of agroecosystems. Although appealing, promoting ecological-based agricultural production is not straightforward since agroecosystems are socio-ecosystems with complex interactions between the ecological and social systems that act at different spatial and temporal scales. To be operational, agroecology thus requires understanding the relationships between biodiversity, functions and management, as well as to take into account the links between agriculture, ecology and the society. Here we review current knowledge on (i) the effect of landscape context on biodiversity and ecosystem functions and (ii) trophic and non-trophic interactions in ecological networks in agroecosystems. In particular, many insights have been made these two previous decades on (i) the interacting effects of management and landscape characteristics on biodiversity, (ii) the crucial role of plant diversity in delivering multiple services and (iii) the variety of ecological belowground mechanisms determining soil fertility in interaction with aboveground processes. However, we also pinpointed the absence of consensus on the effects of landscape heterogeneity on biodiversity and the need for a better mechanistic understanding of the effects of landscape and agricultural variables on farmland food webs and related services. We end by proposing new research avenues to fill knowledge gaps and implement agroecological principles within operational management strategies.

This paper selected Hongquan Branch, Guangba Branch and Gongai Branch of Guangba Farm in Hainan province as study area and total of 327 samples were selected in the rubber plantation. The spatial distribution characters of rubber yield and five soil nutrients, including organic matter (OM), total nitrogen (TN), available phosphorus (AP), available potassium (AK), exchangeable calcium (Ga), were studied using traditional analysis method and geo-statistics analysis method. The results showed that: (1) The average value of rubber yield was 3.55 kg/hm2 with moderate spatial variability and the average values of OM, N, P, K and Ga were 11.65 g/kg, 0.07%, 16.23 mg/kg, 49.65 mg/kg and 84.44 mg/kg, respectively. Soil OM, TN, AK and Ga had moderate spatial variability but AP had strong spatial variability. (2) Rubber yield and soil total nitrogen (N) nutrient had strong spatial dependence; soil OM, AP, AK and Ga had moderate spatial dependence. (3) Based on the previous reports of normal range of soil nutrients, soil OM and TN nutrient content were very low in the studied rubber plantation of Guangba Farm. Therefore, more nitrogen fertilizer should be applied in the rubber plantation in future.

Depending on the stage of growth and type of weed, i.e. the depth at which new shoots can be formed and the ability to withstand burial, implements inflict damage on weeds in different ways: cutting, burial or uprooting. The various types of damage are exemplified. The three main methods of destruction are analysed and compared. These are: lethal damage, particularly effective in the case of plantlets; the exhaustion of reserves, effective where either deep or surface organs are targeted; and withering, of special interest where sub-surface parts are involved. Stored reserves can be depleted by either cutting the foliage, burying foliar parts or severely cutting up surface organs of propagation. Withering is accomplished by either cutting the roots, by exposing the roots to the air or by shaking out rootlets. It is shown that the kind of damage is strongly dependent upon the type of organ involved. Advances in our understanding of the way in which mortality occurs are discussed in the light of research.

description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Conference object , Part of book or chapter of book 2016 FrancePublisher:Springer International Publishing Wenhua Zhu; Dexian Wang; Benoît Eynard; Matthieu Bricogne; Sébastien Remy;Part 4: Building Information Modeling (BIM); International audience; Large-scale 3D city building models have been widely used in urban planning, intelligent transportation, military simulation and other fields.
