description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article , Preprint 2023Publisher:MDPI AG Authors: Samuel A. Prieto; Eyob T. Mengiste; Borja García de Soto;Samuel A. Prieto; Eyob T. Mengiste; Borja García de Soto;Large language models such as ChatGPT have the potential to revolutionize the construction industry by automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks. This paper presents a study in which ChatGPT was used to generate a construction schedule for a simple construction project. The output from ChatGPT was evaluated by a pool of participants that provided feedback regarding their overall interaction experience and the quality of the output. The results show that ChatGPT can generate a coherent schedule that follows a logical approach to fulfill the requirements of the scope indicated. The participants had an overall positive interaction experience and indicated the great potential of such a tool to automate many preliminary and time-consuming tasks. However, the technology still has limitations, and further development is needed before it can be widely adopted in the industry. Overall, this study highlights the potential of using large language models in the construction industry and the need for further research. 14 pages, 6 figures

Not all blazars are discovered. In this work, we propose a catalog of 54 new candidates based on the association of HE gamma ray emission and radio, X-ray an optical signatures. The relevance of this work is also that it was performed by four high school students from the Liceo Scientifico Statale Ugo Morin in Venice, Italy using the open-source platform Open Universe, in collaboration with the University of Padova. The framework of the activity is the Italian MIUR PCTO programme. The success of this citizen-science experience and results are hereafter reported and discussed. In this proceedings we describe the current development status and recent technical achievements of Qibo, an open-source framework for quantum simulation. After a concise overview of the project goal, we introduce the modular layout for backend abstraction released in version 0.1.7. We discuss the advantages of each backend choice with particular emphasis on hardware accelerators for quantum state vector simulation. Finally, we summarize the primitives and models currently available. Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, ACAT2021 proceedings

The rise of sustainability-focused blockchains, especially when intersecting with innovative wireless technologies, revises this predicament. To understand blockchain's role in sustainability, we propose a three-layers structure encapsulating four green utilities: Recording and Tracking, Wide Verification, Value Trading, and Concept Disseminating. Nori, a decentralized voluntary carbon offset project, serves as our case, illuminating these utilities. Our research unveils unique insights into the on-chain carbon market participants, affect factors of the market, value propositions of NFT-based carbon credits, and the role of social media to spread the concept of carbon offset. We argue that blockchain's contribution to sustainability is significant, with carbon offsetting potentially evolving as a new standard within the blockchain sector.
