description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Part of book or chapter of book 2021 FrancePublisher:De Gruyter Authors: DUTHILLE, Rémy;DUTHILLE, Rémy;La méthodologie des transferts culturels, élaborée dans un context franco-allemand dans les années 1980, s'est développée alors que d'autres historiographie transnationales montaient en puissance. This article reviews cultural transfer methodology as it was devised in the context of Franco-German research in the 1980s, and as it developed alongside other relational, transnational historiographies. Examining the historiography of relations between Britain and the Baltic (from Sweden to Russia) in the eighteenth century, if suggests that cultural transfers could complement current approaches and proposes avenues of research on the basis of books published in Riga.

The central questions to be addressed are the following: What aspects or components of verbal meanings are typically lexicalized across languages? What differentiations are found, and what types of generalizations we can make? The study is programmatic insofar as it points out possible avenues for future typological research, rather than presenting well-founded cross-linguistic generalizations. We start with some theoretical background assumptions that are needed for a lexical typology of verb meanings (Section 2). In Sections 3 and 4, we present some case studies, i.e., comparisons of verbal inventories for the domains of eating and drinking (Section 3), and for verbs of physical impact (Section 4), i.e., verbs of killing, beating and cutting. Section 5 contains some thoughts on possible explanations for the patterns and limits of variation that we can observe. Section 6 contains a summary and the conclusions.

However, the exact place and time of this marriage had not been verified until now, which left many lacunae in the study of the life of this composer. In an attempt to shed light on this event, this article presents, for the first time, the marriage certificate of Fernando Sor, to which has been added an analysis of this document and the circumstances surrounding the union recorded in it.

How do rituals of the native country become a commodity? This article intends to reflect on the links between belonging, consumption and the making of entrepreneurship by questioning the use of ethnic categories in social sciences. More precisely, it shows how the social and urban relegation of the descendants of immigrants — from Morocco in France — can paradoxically serve as a catalyst for a socioeconomic mobility through festive economies. Through an ethnographic research in Avignon, the article examines new figures of self-employment in the context of “Moroccan weddings” in France and traces profitability strategies, proper to capitalism, to various “arrangements” with the aesthetics of the culture of origin. The article concludes with a critique of the ethnicity paradigm by arguing for the importance of lifestyle studies in understanding how they mark post-migratory European societies.

description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Part of book or chapter of book 2021 FrancePublisher:De Gruyter Authors: DUTHILLE, Rémy;DUTHILLE, Rémy;La méthodologie des transferts culturels, élaborée dans un context franco-allemand dans les années 1980, s'est développée alors que d'autres historiographie transnationales montaient en puissance.
