    International audience; In the debate on the new world information order, a "global North" and a "global South" are all too often contrasted without measuring up the diversity of factors that influence international media agendas. While a number of studies are beginning to study the diversity of situations in the South, too few analyses study the diversity of situations in the North, too often reduced to the analysis of the historical USA-UK duopoly. This analysis seeks to fill this gap by studying the international geopolitical agenda of 12 daily press newspapers located in the four main countries of Western Europe (France, Spain, Germany, United Kingdom). The results show both the existence of a common agenda in line with the hypotheses of the existence of a "global North" but also strong national specificities associated with a form of division of labour in terms of world coverage, with each newspaper covering a specific macro-region in relation to its historical heritage.; Dans le débat sur le nouvel ordre mondial de l’information, on oppose trop souvent un « Nord global » et un « Sud global » sans prendre la mesure de la diversité des facteurs de variation des agendas internationaux des médias. Si plusieurs études commencent à étudier la diversité des situations au Sud, trop peu d’analyses étudient la diversité des situations au Nord, trop souvent réduite à l’analyse du duopole historique USA–Royaume-Uni. Cette analyse propose de combler cette lacune à travers l’analyse de l’agenda géopolitique international de 12 journaux de presse quotidienne situés dans les quatre principaux pays d’Europe de l’Ouest (France, Espagne, Allemagne, Royaume-Uni). Les résultats montrent à la fois l’existence d’un agenda commun conforme aux hypothèses d’existence d’un « Nord global » mais aussi de fortes spécificités nationales associées à une forme de division du travail en termes de couverture mondiale, chaque journal couvrant une macrorégion spécifique en relation avec ses héritages historiques.

    Abstract A study of the influence of moisture content on the radon exhalation rate from phosphate samples (with and without consideration of the back diffusion effect) was performed using the sealed cup technique. The mass exhalation rate was found to increase with an increase in moisture content, reaching a maximum value of 2.414 ± 0.034 Bq kg−1 h−1 with a moisture content of 10%. However, the mass exhalation rate decreased with a continued increase in moisture content above 25%. The mass exhalation rate was also measured at different temperatures between −10 and 50°C. The obtained results show that the mass exhalation rate increases linearly with temperature. We point out that all the obtained values of radon exhalation rate are lower than the world average radon exhalation rate (57.6 Bq m−2 h−1).

    Computing the flux densities provided by solar concentrators or focusing heliostats can be done in two different ways: A grid ray-tracing (GRT) procedure that uses of a large number of ray bundles, starting from the solar disk and finally impinging the focal plane of the concentrator. The method is reliable and accurate, but requires extensive computing times. Alternatively, the flux densities can be estimated by using convolution algorithms. This latter method requires much less computing time, but is known to be less accurate when the incidence angle of the sunrays on the reflector increases. The objective of this contribution is to define an algorithm based on convolution products and fast Fourier transforms having high accuracy. The results show that RMS error differences between both models are approximately.

  • Authors: Pruvost, Jeremy;

    Microalgae and cyanobacteria appear to be an original plant bioresource, offering numerous possibilities for valorization. In addition to very diversified biochemistry opening up to numerous uses ranging from food to the production of 3rd generation biofuels, photosynthetic growth in dedicated culture systems (open ponds, photobioreactors, etc.) makes it possible to combine a strategy of valorization of effluents from various industrial sources into a recoverable biomass. This is particularly the case regarding the biofixation of CO2 contained in industrial flue gas.This conference will present the key elements of this application of microalgae. The potential will first be introduced (biofixation capacities and size of the cultivation processes envisaged), as well as the leverage effect that such a circular economy approach could have on the industrial development of the sector, in particular concerning commodity products (biofuels, bio-sourced chemistry) which will impose significant CO2 requirements.The main scientific issues linked to the design and implementation of optimized processes will then be given. This will particularly concern the link between gas-liquid transfer, physico-chemistry of CO2 dissolution in the culture medium, and photosynthetic growth kinetics. The benefit of modeling for integrating different phenomena will be shown here through examples aimed at optimized implementation reconciling chemical, physical and biological constraints.; Les microalgues et cyanobactéries apparaissent comme une bioressource végétale originale, offrant de nombreuses possibilités de valorisation. Outre une biochimie très diversifiée ouvrant sur de nombreux usages allant de l’alimentation à la production de biocarburants de 3ème génération, la croissance photosynthétique en systèmes de culture dédiés (bassins de culture, photobioréacteurs…) permet d’y associer une stratégie de valorisation d’effluents de diverses sources industrielles en une biomasse valorisable. C’est en particulier le cas concernant la biofixation du CO2 contenu dans les fumées industrielles.Cette conférence présentera les éléments-clés de cette application des microalgues. Le potentiel sera tout d’abord introduit (capacités de biofixation et taille des procédés de culture envisagés), ainsi que l’effet levier qu’une telle approche d’économie circulaire pourrait avoir sur le développement industriel de la filière, en particulier concernant les produits de commodité (biocarburants, chimie biosourcée) qui imposeront par principe des besoins importants en CO2.Les principaux enjeux scientifiques liés à la conception et la mise en œuvre de procédés optimisés seront ensuite donnés. Cela concernera notamment le lien entre transfert gaz-liquide, physico-chimie de dissolution du CO2 dans le milieu de culture, et cinétique de croissance photosynthétique. L’intérêt de la modélisation pour intégrer les différents phénomènes sera ici montré aux travers d’exemples visant une mise en œuvre optimisée conciliant contraintes chimiques, physiques et biologiques.

    International audience; The southern Ecuadorian forearc system is related to the subduction of the oceanic Farallon/Nazca Plate beneaththe continental South American Plate since the Late Cretaceous, and currently evolves with the dynamic of atectonic block called North Andean Sliver. To explore the structural architecture and processes controlling theUpper Cretaceous-Cenozoic growth of the forearc, we built a ~143 km-long onshore-offshore crustal-scale crosssectionin the Santa Elena Peninsula region using seismic reflection profiles and well and field data. The structureof the Santa Elena Peninsula forearc system is controlled by imbrication of Upper Cretaceous-Palaeocene oceanicbasement and Cenozoic sedimentary units, and underplating of distal Cenozoic sequences stacked at the trenchzone. This led to the progressive construction of an accretionary wedge through time. The forearc substratum ismainly formed by the Upper Cretaceous-Palaeocene basement developed during the docking of oceanic terranes.It is later deformed by NW-trending landward-dipping, normal to strike-slip faults during the Middle Eocene, andrenewed compression by inversion of inherited faults from the Oligocene onwards. Recent deformation consistsin N-trending oceanward-dipping normal faults in the frontal slope domain and fault-controlled uplift of marineterraces along the coastal area. Therefore, the Upper Cretaceous to present-day structural evolution of the SantaElena Peninsula forearc is controlled by the long-lasting subduction dynamics and structural inheritance of theupper plate.

    Authors: Decoene, Valentin;

    Over the last two decades, we have intensified our search for a ghost particle, with the hope that it would provide us with information on the darkest places of our Universe. This quest has been conducted from the deep caves of the Earth, up to the upper layers of our atmosphere, and from one Pole to another. In this review, I will summarize the odyssey of the search for astrophysical neutrinos. I will focus on the recent discoveries and technical developments that led us to the point where we stand now. I will highlight the different types of neutrino detectors, and their performances enabling the discovery of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos, and the understanding of their sources behind. Finally, I will present some possible paths to the remaining uncharted territory of the ultra-high-energy neutrino astronomy. Comment: Proceeding ICRC 2023: 24 pages and 2 figures

    La trajectoire prise par le Bassin Minier de Provence, situé entre Aix en Provence et Marseille, s’explique par sa longue histoire minière, brutalement interrompue par la fermeture des mines en 2003. Nous approchons cet espace avec une perspective globale, englobant les dimensions sociales, économiques et environnementales de ce socio-écosystème. En conclusion, nous proposons des scénarios d’évolution du territoire et des perspectives de recherche, en soulignant le rôle croissant de la transition énergétique, particulièrement dans le contexte de la reconversion de la centrale thermique au charbon. The trajectory taken by the Provence Coalfield (or Bassin Minier de Provence), located between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, is explained by its long mining history, disrupted by the closure of the mine in 2003. We approach this space from a global perspective, considering the social, economic and environmental dimensions of the socio-ecosystem. The conclusion puts forward scenarios for the evolution of the territory and the perspectives for research, underlining the growing role of the energy transition, especially in the context of the closure of the coal-fired power plant.

    Abstract The main source of systematic uncertainty on neutrino cross section measurements at the GeV scale originates from the poor knowledge of the initial flux. The reduction of this uncertainty to 1% can be achieved through the monitoring of charged leptons produced in association with neutrinos. The goal of the ENUBET ERC project is to prove the feasibility of such a monitored neutrino beam. In this contribution, the final results of the ERC project, together with the complete assessment of the feasibility of its concept, are presented. An overview of the detector technology for a next generation of high precision neutrino-nucleus cross section measurements, to be performed with the ENUBET neutrino beam, is also given.

  • Authors: Pruvost, Jeremy;

    Authors: Decoene, Valentin;
