Any provider or other responsible party (the “Provider” or the “Catalogue Operator”) that intends to include one or more research resources (“Resources'') in EOSC must use the appropriate EOSC Profile to describe both themselves and those resources in the machine-readable digital formats described in this IG. If the processing is successful, the subject of each approved EOSC Profile will be listed, findable and accessible in the EOSC Marketplace and can be integrated with other EOSC Core Services, pursuant to the respective EOSC IGs for those services.

The BBMRI-ERIC Directory (https://directory.bbmri-eric.eu) collects information about biobanks throughout Europe as well as the biosample collections and data they make available for research (currently, over 400 biobanks are registered, collectively making available over 1400 sample collections). The ECRIN MDR (https://newmdr.ecrin.org/ is based upon the ECRIN metadata schema and contains metadata from 800,000 clinical research studies and 1.3 million digital objects related to these studies. Collections registered in the BBMRI-ERIC Directory may have been created within a clinical study or trial registered in the ECRIN MDR, however a direct link between the collection and the clinical study or trial has usually not been implemented and cannot be used to merge related information, which belongs together and may considerably enrich the metadata of the BBMRI-ERIC Directory and the ECRIN MDR. In this document those collections registered in the BBMRI-ERIC Directory collections are listed that could be linked to a related study or trial registered in the ECRIN MDR. The full project will be published in Open Research Europe. The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme (101046203).

This task aims to help EOSC become more receptive and responsive to the needs and realities of various domain-specific research communities as users of EOSC by providing insight into the challenges and needs of researchers in disciplines which are not as well-supported or engaged in the pursuit of Open Science. The conclusions presented here emerged from a series of interviews, surveys, focus groups, and conference events over the course of the project conducted with representatives from the Research Data Alliance (RDA), a volunteer-led community 'building the social and technical bridges to enable open sharing and reuse of data.' Representatives spoke on behalf of various disciplinary communities that were perceived to be underrepresented in EOSC, as well as those that were felt to be better supported, because raising awareness about common challenges allows us to leverage successful solutions where they already exist.

C.; de Visser, Casper; Scherer, Andreas; Saracino, Sabrina; Najdekr, Lukáš; Stanková, Jarmila; Nordlund, Jessica; Hajdúch, Marián; Saunders, Gary; Andreu, Antonio L.;Personalised medicine (PM) research seeks to identify interventions that can be targeted to individual patients based on their predicted response. Efficient advancement of PM depends on the availability of validated patient-targeted biomarkers. In order to deliver them, we need a more precise understanding of the molecular profiles of individuals, which is facilitated by multi-omics approaches. To turn the multi-omics promises into a reality, systemic bottlenecks impacting the biomarker field need to be overcome. As part of the EATRIS-Plus project, we developed the Multi-omics Toolbox (MOTBX), to support the translational medicine research community by providing validated resources, such as standardised protocols for individual omics performance and analysis, quality, and data management guidelines, for the development, the implementation and the adoption of multi-omics approaches in real PM. The MOTBX is a resource that has been built with, and for the community. This means that researchers are not only welcome to use the MOTBX, but to support its further development by actively contributing with valuable resources.

A demonstrator has been developed to search in parallel in ECRIN MDR and CESSDA DC (via title). The search can be further restricted by filtering according to specific study types (e.g., interventional study, case-control study, cohort), defined through a mapping table between CESSDA and ECRIN metadata. In the current demonstrator only basic search capabilities are provided, improvements and updates are under exploration.
