International audience; With this White Paper, which gathers contributions from more than 25 experts of 3D imaging, modellng and processing, as well as professionals concerned with the interoperability and sustainability of research data, the PARTHENOS project aims at laying the foundations of a comprehensive environment centered on the researchers' practices concerning 3D digital objects.The topics addressed in the document are meant to help to ensure the development of standardized good practices relating to the production, the handling, the long-term conservation and the reuse of 3D objects. Therefore, even if the focus is put on technical questions (formats, processing, and annotation), the White Paper also identifies the need to clarify the legal status of 3D objects, in order to facilitate their reuse(s) in non-research contexts, in particular in Museums.

The 12th Supplement to the international open access journal ‘Archeologia e Calcolatori’ is dedicated to the history of archaeological research in the digital age, with particular reference to the evolution of electronic publishing from 1955 until today. In the first part of the volume, the Author, Ingénieur de recherche at the CNRS (équipe ArScAn - Monde grec et systèmes d'information), focuses on the history of applications in France in the second half of the 20th century, starting from the earliest experiments of classification and automation of documentary analysis, which then led to the creation of archaeological databases. The second part of the volume examines the development of electronic publishing in archaeology, with particular reference to the changes brought about by the advent of the Internet and the Open Access movement. Through a careful evaluation of the websites of reference for the dissemination of monographs and journals, the analysis focuses on the different digitization and online dissemination policies for archaeological publications. The results of this systematic survey offer a series of interesting ideas to better understand and satisfy the needs of the archaeological community.

Die Alpengletscher schmelzen und bringen so archäologisch interessante Objekte zum Vorschein, die während Jahrzehnten, Jahrhunderten oder Jahrtausenden im Eis lagerten. Denn schon seit der Urgeschichte hinterlassen Menschen Spuren in hochalpinen Gegenden. Nicht jeder Fund ist so spektakulär wie die Eismumie Ötzi. Doch auch nur als Fragmente konservierte Objekte wie Kleidungsstücke, Knochen oder Werkzeuge sind von grossem kulturhistorischem Wert. Sie geben uns eine klarere Vorstellung von der Bekleidung und Ausrüstung der Menschen, die sich in früheren Jahrhunderten und Jahrtausenden im Hochgebirge bewegten. Andere Funde verweisen auf vielfältige alpine Verkehrsachsen und einen sich wandelnden Umgang mit alpinen Ressourcen. Das Bulletin behandelt in seinem thematischen Dossier das Thema der Gletscherarchäologie und nimmt damit ein junges Feld der archäologischen Forschung auf. Platform Linked Data Nederland bestaat dit jaar 5 jaar en om dat te vieren is een lustrum boek gemaakt, waarin de resultaten van de afgelopen 5 jaar gedeeld worden en waarin een aantal interviews staan met een aantal personen die een belangrijke rol hebben gespeeld in de positieve ontwikkelingen rondom Linked Data projecten. Frank Tierolff, bestuurder bij het Kadaster, is één van de personen, die geïnterviewd is voor dit lustrumboek. This open access book is about public open spaces, about people, and about the relationship between them and the role of technology in this relationship. It is about different approaches, methods, empirical studies, and concerns about a phenomenon that is increasingly being in the centre of sciences and strategies – the penetration of digital technologies in the urban space. As the main outcome of the CyberParks Project, this book aims at fostering the understanding about the current and future interactions of the nexus people, public spaces and technology. It addresses a wide range of challenges and multidisciplinary perspectives on emerging phenomena related to the penetration of technology in people’s lifestyles - affecting therefore the whole society, and with this, the production and use of public spaces. Cyberparks coined the term cyberpark to describe the mediated public space, that emerging type of urban spaces where nature and cybertechnologies blend together to generate hybrid experiences and enhance quality of life.

This book is available as open access through the Bloomsbury Open programme and is available on www.bloomsburycollections.com. It is funded by Trinity College Dublin, DARIAH-EU and the European Commission. This book explores the challenges society faces with big data, through the lens of culture rather than social, political or economic trends, as demonstrated in the words we use, the values that underpin our interactions, and the biases and assumptions that drive us. Focusing on areas such as data and language, data and sensemaking, data and power, data and invisibility, and big data aggregation, it demonstrates that humanities research, focussing on cultural rather than social, political or economic frames of reference for viewing technology, resists mass datafication for a reason, and that those very reasons can be instructive for the critical observation of big data research and innovation.

Im Spätsommer 2016 begannen die Planungen der Open-Access-Teams der Freien Universität, der Humboldt-Universität und der Technischen Universität Berlin für die internationale Open Access Week 2016. In einem Call for Posters wurden Berliner und Brandenburger Open-Access-Projekte dazu aufgerufen, ihre Aktivitäten in einer Ausstellung vorzustellen. Die Publikation dokumentiert die Posterausstellung und Podiumsdiskussion zur Open Access Week 2016. Sie enthält 30 Poster inklusive Beschreibungen und Links zu den Originalversionen in Druckqualität, ergänzt um Fotos einer Abendveranstaltung bei Wikimedia Deutschland. In late summer 2016 the open access teams of the Freie Universität, the Humboldt-Universität and the Technische Universität Berlin started their plans for the international Open Access Week 2016. In a call for posters, open access projects from Berlin and Brandenburg were requested to present their activities in a poster exhibition. The publication documents the poster exhibition and panel discussion during the Open Access Week 2016.
