SHAPE-ID has been funded by the European Commission to explore the challenge of how to better support the integration of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) perspectives into interdisciplinary research with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and other scientific disciplines, including Medicine, particularly in the context of addressing societal challenges. In this context, SHAPE-ID Work Package 3 (WP3) organised a series of workshops to learn directly from the experiences of researchers from across disciplines, as well as policy makers, funders and representatives from research performing organisations, industry and the cultural sector. This deliverable comprises two parts: Section A illustrates the matrix for integration of learning cases and the framework of analysis that was co-designed with the SHAPE-ID partners at the Co-Design Workshop, held at ISINNOVA, in Rome, on 13-14 June 2019. Section B illustrates a challenge-oriented research evaluation framework, criteria and tools proposed to evaluate research projects, as well as an evaluation methodology proposed for the learning workshops.

The SHAPE-ID project was scheduled to organise six learning case workshops across Europe between December 2019 and May 2020 to enable stakeholders to explore best practices in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research (IDR/TDR) with an emphasis on research involving the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS). The first three of these workshops – held in Dublin in December 2019, Edinburgh in January 2020 and Turin in February 2020 – took place as planned. The remaining three – intended to take place in Bilbao in March, in Warsaw in April and in Zurich in May 2020 – were postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Due to the ongoing and uncertain situation with COVID-19, the SHAPE-ID consortium considered the organisation of in-person meetings no longer feasible and decided to reorganise the workshops in a remote setting. This choice, besides ensuring the protection of all participants’ health while reducing further delays to the project, has presented the opportunity to experiment with interdisciplinary/ transdisciplinary learning activities in a virtual environment. Indeed, despite the adversity, there is an opportunity to be seized in organising online events. Exploring the potential of online techniques for working and developing interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaborations is a necessary step considering that personal mobility and gatherings will not resume at previous levels of frequency and intensity soon. In particular, the role of the Arts and Humanities in this scenario is essential because the technology-driven process of moving meetings online will challenge most of the tacit and emotional aspects of human interaction, such as informal and private communication, the emotional effects of collaboration, and all those non-visible elements of social exchange that need to be considered and influence the outcome of collaborative research. We therefore had the opportunity to learn how to design, prepare and conduct online workshops – taking advantage of the necessary delay to research suitable methodologies and redesign already well-planned in-person workshops – and evaluate their efficacy compared to the traditional face-to-face workshops. This document reports on the workshops, organising the findings into a coherent framework in order to feed into a second report, D3.3 – Recommendations and measures to maximise IDR impact on society. The current report is structured as follows: Section 1: Integration of challenge-oriented learning journeys Section 2: Overview of the six workshops’ outcomes (Dublin, Edinburgh, Turin, Zurich, Warsaw, Bilbao) Section 3: Detailed reports for each of the six workshops Section 4: Conclusions on IDR learning cases tackling societal challenges and missions In addition, Appendix 1 includes the full set of six workshops evaluation reports and Appendix 2 the full list of participants at all learning workshops. The EC has requested Research Infrastructures and RI Projects to respond how they can set up possible actions that can be oriented towards the objective to create a European data platform for COVID-19 related information exchange. Our goal is to remove barriers that hinder high-quality, reproducible science leading to evidence-based interventions, such as Non-availability of relevant data – over countries, from various sources. Some data might be lost forever if they are not collected in due course. Need for a data panel to collect actions, attitudes and behaviours of citizens. We need a coordinated, web-based platform to collect data of citizens. This must be done in multiple countries (languages, cultural differences). Limited accessibility of data. Some data require security or privacy-protection measures and can only be accessed by remote access techniques. Difficulties of finding the data (by humans and machines),There is a massive data lake on social behaviour. Depending on the type of the crisis we need to filter out relevant data quickly. This is hindered due to lack of standardised descriptions (metadata) and physical spread of the data over countries and locations. Extensive efforts needed to combine data (over countries, over types of data), Multilinguality and differences in data types hinder data comparison and data integration, and would require large and time consuming efforts by researchers. The Data Portal should be designed to become a Scientific Commons and Virtual Collection on all the relevant (non-medical) social and political/policy data on the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences. It should cover data and research from the multiple disciplines that are relevant (e.g. demography, economics, linguistics/natural language processing, media and communication studies, migration studies, political science, psychology, sociology, urban studies, etc.). It should incorporate the great variety of data formats (official statistics, surveys, registers, social media, qualitative, multi-media data, etc.) in which data relating to the COVID-19 emergency

Between reality and fiction, the unexpected appearance of SARS-COV2 on a global scale raises several questions about its true origin and what perspective on its long-term evolution.

This repo was created to keep records of the COVID-19 epidemics in St. Petersburg, Russia. The datasets are based on a range of sources: the official reports published by Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing / Russia), Rosstat (Federal State Statistics Service / Russia), and local authorities (St. Petersburg government, Interdepartmental City Council for Prevention of the Spread of a New Coronavirus Infection (COVID-19) in St. Petersburg), and open data resulted from an original research by Yandex N.V.

This data collection offers representative polls of the Ukrainian population in the early summer of 2019, 2020 and 2021 related to health issues and the functioning of the public healthcare system (including the COVID-19 pandemic). The polls were organised by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation (DIF) and conducted by the Razumkov Centre. <br>The polls were conducted as omnibus surveys. This data collection contains only those questions which are related to healthcare plus basic questions related to socio-demographic and political indicators. The relevant questions of each poll are reproduced in the original Ukrainian wording in the "Documentation of Data Collection". The SPSS files and the Excel files with the raw data contain the English translation on the variables sheet.

Il patrimonio culturale rappresenta un settore strategico per lo sviluppo della società, dell'economia e del lavoro. Una dimensione essenziale della gestione e della fruizione del patrimonio culturale è il processo della sua digitalizzazione. Accanto al patrimonio culturale esiste ormai un patrimonio culturale digitale che ne garantisce la conservazione, la diffusione e la valorizzazione. Le nuove tecno-logie hanno trasformato l'organizzazione di musei, gallerie, siti d'arte e siti archeologici. Queste stesse tecnologie hanno consentito la diffusione e l'operabilità a livello internazionale di infrastrutture digitali di informazione e ricerca. La digitalizzazione ha consentito ai luoghi della cultura di sperimentare nuovi legami, con i territori e con i cittadini, già dall'inizio degli anni 2000 e soprattutto a seguito del lockdown imposto dalla pandemia da Covid 19. Le tante attività di digitalizzazione volte a valorizzare i beni culturali richiedono sia co-noscenze umanistiche che scientifiche. Da un lato, esse implicano la creazione di realtà virtuali e modellizzazioni per una diversa e più profonda conoscenza, dall'altro lato, richiedono l'uso dell'intelligenza artificiale e dei big data per ricostruire il passato delle culture o per conoscere i flussi turistici nei siti d'arte. Anche le professioni, le competenze ed i percorsi formativi legati alla digitalizzazione dei beni culturali nascono dalle interazioni tra sistemi fisici e sistemi virtuali, da conoscenze ed esperienze di diversa natura.

The LREC 2020 Proceedings are available at http://www.lrec-conf.org/proceedings/lrec2020/index.html; International audience; In this article, we will introduce two of the new parts of the new multi-part version of the Lexical Markup Framework (LMF) ISO standard, namely Part 3 of the standard (ISO 24613-3), which deals with etymological and diachronic data, and Part 4 (ISO 24613-4), which consists of a TEI serialisation of all of the prior parts of the model. We will demonstrate the use of both standards by describing the LMF encoding of a small number of examples taken from a sample conversion of the reference Portuguese dictionary Grande Dicionário Houaiss da Língua Portuguesa, part of a broader experiment comprising the analysis of different, heterogeneously encoded, Portuguese lexical resources. We present the examples in the Unified Modelling Language (UML) and also in a couple of cases in TEI.

Owing to the accelerated adoption of digital technology triggered by the lockdown, educational institutions are forced to work online by maintaining social distance. Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) are considering this fact as an ideal time to experiment and deploy new digital technology to impart quality education. By considering the need of the hour, the present study focuses on the role of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in higher education in selected COVID-19 affected cities viz., Hubballi-Dharwad and Belagavi. The present study is made with the objective to understand the usage of ICT in higher education in specified regions (Hubli-Dharwad, Belgavi). It attempts to know the extent of student participation in ICT-based learning and the problems faced by both teacher and student communities. Finally, it suggests measures to overcome the problems in effective teaching-learning.
