The DDRS - or Data Deposit Recommendation Service - recommends research data repositories to humanities researchers searching for deposit services for their research data, which comply to criteria such as PIDs, funders’ requirements, disciplinary scope or language preferences. The presentation shows the DDRS as re3data use case and explains how the relation between the web service (DDRS) and re3data for the information retrieval is implemented. European Open Science Cloud EOSC: a vision of the future

SHAPE-ID has been funded by the European Commission to explore the challenge of how to better support the integration of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) perspectives into interdisciplinary research with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and other scientific disciplines, including Medicine, particularly in the context of addressing societal challenges. In this context, SHAPE-ID Work Package 3 (WP3) organised a series of workshops to learn directly from the experiences of researchers from across disciplines, as well as policy makers, funders and representatives from research performing organisations, industry and the cultural sector. This deliverable comprises two parts: Section A illustrates the matrix for integration of learning cases and the framework of analysis that was co-designed with the SHAPE-ID partners at the Co-Design Workshop, held at ISINNOVA, in Rome, on 13-14 June 2019. Section B illustrates a challenge-oriented research evaluation framework, criteria and tools proposed to evaluate research projects, as well as an evaluation methodology proposed for the learning workshops.

This report provides information about activities and progress towards establishing DARIAH membership in six countries: the Czech Republic, Finland, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK, which took place between July and December 2019. Previous activities were described in detail in the D3.2 - Regularly Monitor Country-Specific Progress in Enabling New DARIAH Membership. During the project lifetime, the Czech Republic joined DARIAH ERIC; in other countries, collaboration with DARIAH has been greatly strengthened and significant progress regarding DARIAH membership has been achieved. The report also outlines the next steps in the accession processes, building on the results of the DESIR project.

This document is the final, updated, version of deliverable D2.1 of the PARTHENOS project, which addresses user requirements and needs. It contains a comprehensive report based on a review of literature produced by previous relevant projects, supplemented with additional direct input from PARTHENOS partners. Research funding organizations, particularly at international level, are increasingly promoting the\ud creation and maintenance of open access research infrastructures (RI). These resources have\ud assumed a pivotal role as support for the new open and networked science in their dimension of\ud technical and operational frameworks that allow scientists and stakeholders to collaborate and\ud share scientific data and results. In Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), the creation and\ud exploitation of open data platforms is still attempting to catch up with longer-standing practices\ud in the “hard sciences” as the resistance to wider data sharing has not yet been completely\ud overcome. This paper aims to describe how a large project, financed by the European\ud Commission, managed the creation of a RI in the field of SSH, showing the steps undertaken to\ud comply with the GDPR regulations and prepare the data for useful sharing and reuse. In this\ud regard, the authors present the case study of the Horizon 2020 “CultureLabs” project, placing\ud emphasis on some specific practical factors that they believe are particularly important for\ud implementing open access principles in the establishment and maintenance of RIs in the new\ud course of science based on sharing and openness. In particular, the authors will focus on creation\ud of “useful” and GDPR-compliant data and the impact on research activities as a result of their\ud (re)utilisation; the control of the data management process; and the compliance with funders’\ud requirements (e.g. in terms of data security). The reflection on the interplay of these aspects,\ud operated through a case study, appears to be crucial in moving away from a merely theoretical\ud approach to addressing the issue of open access, and it hopes to serve as a guide or a warning for\ud those who create and administer open RIs.

In this session of the series, you will get acquainted with SKOSMOS, a web-based tool providing services for accessing controlled vocabularies, which are used by indexers describing documents and searchers looking for suitable keywords. Vocabularies are accessed via SPARQL endpoints containing SKOS vocabularies. SKOSMOS has been developed by the National Library of Finland. You can view a demo here.
