The aim of this poster is to provide an overview of the work carried out in the CLS INFRA project and its conclusions for the field of Computational Literary Studies.

Using the exemplary case of scanning European text collections for instances of the genre "haiku", this short presentation will illustrate the need for the methods and tools being developed in the CLS INFRA project. Specifically, it will show which procedures are necessary to optimally structure corpora for the CLS community.

The National Initiatives for Open Science in Europe (NI4OS Europe) project supports the development of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) by contributing to its portfolio of services, by involving national and regional research communities in the EOSC governance, by strengthening open science (OS) practices, and by promoting the FAIR principles (Macan et al., 2020; Garavelli et al., 2021) to help build the infrastructure and create a favourable environment for open and intensive scholarly communication.The main instrument in achieving this is the network of 15 national Open Science Cloud Initiatives (NOSCIs) established in the partner countries as national-level coalitions of Open Science stakeholders that have a prominent role and interest in the EOSC. The concept of NOSCI has been developed in response to the specific traits and challenges in the targeted region, based on complex and multilayered analyses of stakeholders, policies, and local contexts (Toli et al., 2020). Inclusive by nature, NOSCIs connect stakeholders from across the research lifecycle at the national level and provide not only a testbed for the formulation of OS policies but also a forum for knowledge dissemination and sharing.Drawing on a secondary analysis of the abundant data collected and materials produced during the project, this presentation focuses on the challenges identified as the NOSCIs were built – from data collection in the context of landscaping (Kosanović & Ševkušić, 2019) and policy analysis, through concept development, to implementation, testing, and verification (use cases). It highlights the relationship between individual challenges and NOSCI elements that address these challenges.The challenges are largely owed to diversities within the region, most notably the varying levels of integration into European structures (of the 15 partner countries, eight are not EU members), linguistic diversity, different research governance systems, policy traditions, and available funding. The framework for NOSCI development, the so-called blueprint (Toli et al., 2020), was designed in full recognition of these diversities. It relies on three modular workflows (Toli et al., 2021) and gives maximum flexibility to countries or national initiatives while making sure that all locally specific aspects are addressed.We believe that the approach adopted by the NI4OS-Europe team could be applied in other highlydiversified environments, as has been demonstrated by the NI4OS-Europe use cases, thanks to the flexible mechanism of interaction between challenges and responses underlying the very concept of NOSCI. "Literarische Werke und deren digitale Repräsentationen stellen auch in den Fachbereichen der Computational Literary Studies (CLS) das Fundament für epistemische Auseinandersetzungen und Diskurse. In unserem Teilprojekt Data Selection and Curation des europäischen ""Computational Literary Studies Infrastructure""-Projekts möchten wir Brücken zu wissensbasierten Ressourcen für die CLS-Community aufbauen, um die Zugangsparadigmen für literarische Daten signifikant zu rekonfigurieren und erheblich zu verbessern. Um die Auffindbarkeit und den forschungsorientierten Zugang zu literarischen Daten für die CLS-Community zu ermöglichen, ist eine Inventarisierung der CLS-Datenlandschaft erforderlich, die forschungsrelevante Kriterien für die Datenauswahl sowie deren Erfassung und Beschreibung anwendet. Mit dieser Inventarisierung, die wir in Form einer Data Landscape Review durchführen, kann die vorhandene Datenlandschaft als digitales Erbe für CLS-Kontexte erst umfassend sichtbar und als Vorlage für weitere Forschungsvorhaben zugänglich gemacht werden. Unser Posterbeitrag präsentiert die Ergebnisse der Data Landscape Review, das Beschreibungsmodell, dessen Umsetzung in RDF und ein proof-of-concept des Online-Katalogs." Ein Beitrag zur 8. Iako u Zborniku dominiraju radovi koji se bave naučnicama u prošlosti, kao i njihovim radom, saznanjima, nedovoljnom afirmisanosšću njihovog rada, poteškoćama sa kojima su se suočavale, zbornik zaokružuju radovi koji se bave savremenom situacijom, tj. položajem žena u akademskoj zajednici danas i svim teškoćama koje i same akterke katkada teško detektuju i prepoznaju. Patrijarhalni mehanizmi prožimaju društvo u kome živimo na različitim nivoima, a sami principi koji vladaju u akademskom svetu – u kojima sve više važe pravila liberalnog kapitalizma i ideje o „upotrebljivosti“ nauke i merljivosti rezultata – cementiraju i prikrivaju davno odomaćen diskriminatorski odnos prema ženama i prema naučničkom glasu i diskursu koji odudara od dominantne paradigme. Stoga su neophodni neprekidni napori da se ženski glas u nauci čuje, a položaj naučnica stalno unapređuje i popravlja. • To the extent that is has been theorised, work on DH pedagogy has tended to be very strongly tied to the classroom experience. A classroom experience, however, exists within a particular social and institutional framework (students seeking knowledge, experience or qualification from instructors who master a specific body of knowledge) which is quite different from the operational and distributed nature of Research Infrastructures such as DARIAH.• Research infrastructures seldom possess the kinds of specialised procedures, staff, resources and expertise to deliver formal educational programmes, but the strength of RI’s lies in the provision of and reflection upon the experience of acculturation and professionalization in “real” cross-institutional and often cross-cultural projects in which peer learning, skills transfers and network building are a rule rather than an exception.• Research Infrastructures such as DARIAH have a specific role to play in the European educational landscape by complementing rather than replacing the pedagogical models prevalent in HEIs today.• RI’s such as DARIAH should focus not only on DH or even on a discipline in which a student or researcher seeks to use DH methodologies, but also on highlighting how these practices engage interdependent communities of practice with intersecting concerns.• DARIAH should intensify effort to position itself as pedagogically relevant beyond the individual humanities disciplines in terms of what it can contribute to the development and dissemination of early-career researchers’ transferable skills and competences as identified by the Eurodoc 2018 Report.• DARIAH should establish an active educational partnership network in order to validate a new approach to the skills needs of humanities students and researchers, looking beyond the frame of what is currently available in the context of formal educational programmes.• DARIAH should develop a curricular model and, if possible, an internship program, to enable fluid exchange of knowledge and students between university programmes and the applied contexts of the research infrastructure.• DARIAH should continue to create and maintain essential filtering and contextualising layers for training materials, which are now available throughDARIAH-Campus, in order to coordinate and enhance open educational resources with other stakeholders in the field.• DARIAH should aim to apply and test its learning resources in different HE contexts in order to profit from unforeseen synergies and unexpected outcomes such as, for instance, the initiative to publish young researchers’ data papers using the DARIAH-Campus Event Capture Template, which emerged out of the DESIR Workshop at the University of Neuchâtel.• Building on currently identified needs, DARIAH should develop foresight models to predict future needs within the Higher Education sector.
